Good product-makes the snare deep.
I have a Ludwig Breakbeats kit that I’ll use to gig in smaller venues. I love the kit very much except for the snare. Just have a hard time tuning it and getting it the way I like. I decided to use this on that kit and I really like it. It will lower the pitch of your drum and take out the majority of the overtones. It also depends on the sound like you like. I usually tune my snare first and then put this on. I even went and bought a 13 inch and 10 inch BFSD for some other snares I have.

Worked Like a Charm!
I have been a musician for 50+ years, but I am completely new to drums. My Yamaha snare had a very annoying ringing overtone. A drummer friend suggested using a dampener, and after reading a ton of reviews I chose this one. What a difference! Now I get that sharp "crack" when I hit my snare, and there is NO ringing overtone. Easy to install...takes about 2 seconds to lay it on the drum head and you're done. Practicing is much more pleasant now that I'm getting the right sound on my snare...

Great professionsal level prodect!!
Fantastic dampener for the snare with or without the snares engaged. Really odes the trick and does not reduce playability.

Sound i was looking for!
At first glance this looks like some sort of gimmick but I'm glad i bought it. A small piece of plastic with a cutout hole in the middle just sits on top of the drum head. It seemed to completely eliminate all that ring and echo overtone that I had before.. It does muffle the sound a tad when your on the pad but doesn't really matter because of the hole in the middle so you still get that good crack from any snare. Therefore I'm finding new sounds that I did not have before. With the wires off it has a very deep beefy thump that my snare never had before.. Whatever style you like I'm sure this will work fine for you. I would buy again and I recommend.

Love it! Fattens up the sound just like it says.
Fantastic! Takes sharp, thin, dry snares and makes them Lucious, fat, wet and musical. Perfect. I also love their quesadilla!

Buen sondio
Controla los armónicos sin ahogar el sonido, es como tener un segundo redoblante.

A dramatic tone shaper for your snare
Using the BFSD is like having two different drums. Placing it on the batter head lowered the pitch of my Gene Krupa about a step, scooped the mids and tightened the (Sound Pure - recommended) snare sound. I am a recording engineer and I see the BFSD as a valuable recording tool. It makes the drum sound gated. There is a slight reduction in volume, and the BFSD invites you to hit a bit harder. I like the focus it gives to Hot Rods as well. A different sound palette from the same drum for $20. Tune your snare well first. Definitely worth a try!

It does make a HUGE difference!
Bought this to use in our church, as requested by our drummer. Being a rookie musician in the worship ministry myself, I do notice an enormous difference in how the snare sounds when using this donut. The sound is more "solid" with less unwanted reverb. It truly is more pleasant to the ear. The best part is, if you do want to have that reverb back for a particular song, or even for part of a song, you can very easily lift the donut up to remove it, then put it back later. It doesn't get any easier than this. Highly recommended.
