Loved it Again!
I wanted to love this diaper pail and for the first six months I did. It is a beautiful diaper pail and I love the color. We bought the purple and it looks great in her nursery. When it is working properly, we didn't have a single issue with smell. Then the diaper opening mechanism broke. My husband tried to fix it but it doesn't open all the way b/c something was broken inside. So you have open it and shove the diapers down! Gross!! Well now today it won't close so there is horrible diaper smell all around it. Gag me! Also if the bag is full, the sides of it will rip the bag so be careful not to let it get too full. I sent an email to the company and never got a response.UPDATE: After my review, the President of the company contacted me and sent a new top. It was shipped out quickly and very easy to change out. Now that the top is fixed, I love it all over again!! And all of the huge diapers fit in the hole without me touching anything!! And even with a full bag, there is no smell with this diaper pail. One thing I didn't mention in my previous review is how much I love the fact that you can use any trash bags that you want. So much easier and cheaper than using manufacturer specific bags!

updated review -- provided a replacement top and high hopes this one will work fine
updated review. the customer service is great from this company. they immediately shipped me the new top and didn't even ask for proof via photo etc. i'm hopeful that this top will work for a long time since i love this diaper paid because its a great modern look plus has two closings to keep the smell contained.______I would have given this a 5+++ star but sadly the pail has broken on me twice. the first time the inside metal sliding piece got stuck half way open -- which really defeats the purpose of having two closures to keep out the smell. luckily that fixed itself somehow after a few weeks. however, just a week ago another piece broke -- this time it was the hinge on the opening. it broke completely (see photo) and now I will have to get a new diaper pail after only 5 months.if i didn't have these issues, i would have given this a great review. i love the paid overall in terms of effectiveness (really don't smell the diapers, can hold a lot of diapers, you can use any garbage bag so you don't have to pay for expensive refills) and looks (modern design is really nice and love the grey color).i'm hoping that Bubula will do the right thing and send me a replacement to stand behind their product and prove that this is an unusual situation to have multiple pieces break after just 5 months.

I love my Bubula!
I love my Bubula! I have a 6 month old who is now eating solids, resulting in offensively smelling diapers. This bin contains all the smell and allows me to use garbage bags instead of having to buy special bags. It will hold quite a few diapers. I empty it weekly so I can get the smelly diapers in the trash before the garbage man comes, but it could easily hold 1.5 to 2 weeks worth of diapers. I also appreciate how easy this bin is to use. I can deposit the diaper into this bin with one hand, leaving the other arm free to hold the baby.I recently had an issue with the Bubula where the lid broke and wouldn't close anymore. I was disappointed because I'd only had the bin for 2 months and expected a better product based off the price. I contacted the company via their website and was shocked to see them reply to my complaint within 10 minutes! Seriously - 10 minutes later I had an email from them in my inbox. Not a system generated email saying that they received my email and would get back to me in X amount of hours/days, but a reply addressing my problem. They apologized and said they'd had a batch go out with a bad pin and they would be sending me a new lid to my home free of charge. It has been a while since I've had a positive customer service experience and it makes me love my Bubula even more!I'd highly recommend this product and the company!

Great design and phenomenal customer service; Need to increase consistency of product quality
I'm mixed on how many stars to give here, so I just averaged my different ratings.Summary: Love the design and customer service, but not thrilled with the $90 cost especially considering the manufacturing imperfections at this price point (on two different units). Maybe I'm being too picky.Extended Review: The design of the diaper pail is definitely the one we liked the best. What's not to like? Taller can, no smell with the trap door, metal can construction, use any kitchen trash bag... positives just like all the other reviews. Only things I'd pick on are the poor lid to can latch mechanism and the fact that the lid is plastic instead of metal like the rest of the can. When it arrived, we were happy that most everything worked as expected with the trap door and lid (as many other buyers have had problems in the past), but were disappointed to find one defect and two QC/manufacturing issues. The one defect was that the lid to can latch (the white latch on the front that secures the lid to the can) was not working right and would only work if we forced the latch and made it crooked. The first manufacturing issue was the fact that the color of the plastic lid assembly (guessing that a color dye is mixed in with molten plastic) was darker than the color of the metal can (painted on after can is manufactured). The second QC issue was that the rubber ring around the bottom was deformed. To be fair, I wouldn't complain about these "QC" issues if the diaper pail was priced lower - but in my opinion, a $90 diaper pail should be perfect. We contacted Bubula and WOW, is their customer service great. They responded immediately (at night, they responded within 1 hour). They sent us a replacement quickly. After we got it, the latch defect was not there (the latch worked, but I'd suggest it be redesigned - more on that later). However, the lid on the new Bubula was still a darker shade of Sage than the color of the can just like the last one. It seems as if the color issue will be a problem with all colors (except for white) until their manufacturer can figure out how to get the dye used in the plastic lid to match the paint color on the can. If this bothers you, maybe order the White version? Also the rubber ring on the bottom of the replacement was yellowed, dull and discolored like it had been sitting around for years. For a $90 diaper pail, color differences and imperfect parts should not be expected. If this were a cheaper diaper pail, I'm not sure I'd be complaining about these things, but it's all subjective.Regarding the lid to can latch, it's not toddler proof. Any reasonably intelligent toddler can pull it up and open the can - imagine walking into a room with a laughing toddler and dirty diapers strewn across the room. They should switch to those "spring clamp" latches you can find on storage canisters in the kitchen - like on those containers that many people use to store flour and sugar on the countertop. Here's the breakdown of my ratings:Functionality, Design and General Quality: 4 stars (5 stars once they make the lid to can latch toddler proof)Quality Control/Manufacturing Consistency: 2 starsValue: 2 stars - feels like it should be priced in the ~$60 range vs. the current $90 price - at least until they can get the QC and manufacturing right.Customer Service: 5 stars for effort and responsivenessAverage score: 3.25 stars
