Smells Devine
I never realized that original rootbeer was made from tea. The herbs and roots in this tea all have medicinal value, that's completely gone today in even the organic rootbeers. it's all artifical colors or natural colors with artificial or natural flavors and carbonated water. After buying this tea and adding stevia and carbonated water, I will never buy rootbeer again.

Delicious mix for tea
If you like tisanes of root beer, go for it. If you want to drink it as a tea without sweetener or bubbles, this tea is perfect. The aftertaste is similar to root beer candy.

What they said...
I was hoping to use the tea to make a home made root beer using fermented water kefir - and thought that perhaps letting it sit a few days would improve the taste once the herbs had a chance to mellow. It didn't improve and while I am loath to dump all of it out, I sure am thinking about it. (And I followed the directions): "Brew 1-2 teaspoons of tea/8oz of water at 203 degrees and steep for 4-5 minutes." I first boiled 32 oz water and then dropped 4 teaspoons of the tea in and let it steep until cooled. The tea wasn't dark, more of a golden yellow. The smell of wintergreen (birch bark) dominated. Once it cooled I added it to primed water kefir bottles and let ferment for a few days. My brew smells like root beer, but the birch bark dominates and there is a sour taste not helped with sugar.
