Fly Fishing Small Streams

The book was part "how to" and part fishing stories. It was still entertaining in places and informative in others. Most of it read like a stream of conscious. He did give me some good ideas about fishing in some small trout streams in my area.

With his usual humor, John Gierach covers fly fishing small streams for trout. It is an under appreciated topic given that about as much water flows through the tributaries of a river as through the river its self. Joe Humphreys is perhaps the other most notable author on this subject. Unfortunately, both of their books on this are decades old.

This book is real informative so far. I am not done with it but it is good so far.

This is a nice little "how to" booked by the ultimate trout bumper. It's a great read and many good lessons are contained within. I highly recommend this book for the new to intermediate fly fisher.

Great book by a local Colorado author. If you like stream and river fishing for trout this is your book.

Informative and entertaining, you do not need to be an expert to enjoy expert advise and writing. Got a fly rod? Read on.

Admittedly, this isn't my favorite Gierach book - but it's still a Gierach book - so it's worth a read and great for my collection.
