BAYCOSL-8903 Cord Reel, Yellow

I wanted something like this for a very long time and I'm glad I bought this one. Installation was a bit tricky on my own just because I had to balance on the ladder and try to line everything up without dropping the bolts, nuts, or main unit but I got it done in about 10 to 15 minutes, including measuring, marking, and drilling the pilot holes.It seems to be very sturdy and rolls out and in easily and quickly. It doesn't track the cord from side to side so you do have to kind of do that for it to make sure it doesn't roll all up to one side and possibly jam but that's a small thing to me.The cord is think and the outlet is sturdy. I've had this running my 12" Dewalt Mitre saw, my small shop vac, and my cellphone charger all at once with no issues.The length is great. I have this in the center of my 2 car garage ceiling and I can run it out and down the drive way to plug in vacuums to clean the cars parked in the driveway or power the power tools I setup around the side of the garage.I can't be happier with this product for what it is. Would the auto track from side to side on wind up be nice, yes, but it would probably cost more and break more. I like this simple sturdy design. Would a swivel that allowed it to turn in all directions be nice, yes, but it would just make the mount more complicated and probably more flimsy. It doesn't cost that much cord to just have it point out 1 direction and then wrap around itself essentially to go in the other direction when you need to.This is a great product!!

What you see is what you get with this. It's a big, sturdy heavy duty cord reel.I installed one of these in my primary garage. I like the cord because unlike some of the smaller Bayco's, it doesn't feel cheap. The ratchet works well and has a consistent take-up. The cord collar that sets the height is big and tough and works well. It comes with two bolts to mount it to a joist, and the outlet has a red LED on it, so you know right away if you trip the breaker. Speaking of which, the plug has it's own built-in breaker, which I supposed is a nice touch, although if it trips, I have to get a ladder out to reset it. The mounting system through the yellow handles is well made with brass threaded holes in the body of the reel, and two black thumbscrews that hold it in place.In fact, I liked this so much, I just ordered a another one for my 2nd garage where I do all the work on my cars.Pros:Heavy DutyBuilt-in breakerEasy mounting systemEffective take-up systemLED indicatorCons:It's heavy, but you only care about that once

This is a well-made, heavy reel that is very easy to install. While the color is a little bright for my tastes, I love that it's a heavy-duty, 13 amp unit and that it has three outlets and an indicator light on the end. After using one for several months I just installed another one. Makes finding an extension cord in the garage a thing of the past.

I own 4 of these, 3 inside my shop and 1 in the center of my garage. Very durable and owned for 3yrs. One thing I think is pointless is the circuit breaker on the plug. I cut it off so didn't have to deal with it tripping (it trips very easily BTW) and hardwired into my electrical boxes for an outlet. Killed 2 birds with 1 stone, no more 13a breaker AND doesn't take up an outlet. Win-win!

Circuit breaker on the unit keeps blowing from even using a 3/8" drill. Dont even try to use three of anything at the same time.

This is a sturdy built cord reel. Mounted in the garage. Easy to install and use.

This replaces one I have had for over 20 years, which was recently damaged. Excellent product.

Bought this back in march to use in my garage. Attached it to the wall and it worked great for exactly 6 months when it just seemed to quit working. It still retracts and coils just fine, but it doesn't get any power to it. Nothing works when plugged into it. Really disappointing... I am still waiting on a reply from Amazon about a warranty replacement...

Works good. 50 feet of cable which is longer than most out there for sale. Needs to be close to outlet so plug in cord can reach so pick mounting location with that in mind - I had to add a short pig tail

Bought for my husband and he loves it. He says it's a very good product.

Nice fit / finish. Easy to mount. Good spring return strength. Because the wire is relatively thick if you pull a lot of wire from the reel, it can bind up in the reel as it retracts. You have to guide the wire back into reel buy moving the wire left to right so it winds evenly. Not a big deal for me. I also wrap a rag around the wire as it retracts allowing the wire to be cleaned as it returns to the reel.
