DEWALT Drill Tap, UNC, 3/8-Inch (DWADT3816)

The bit is a fantastic idea, but did not last through all of the holes we needed to complete. We were able to get about 10 holes per bit.

Works just as it is supposed to and good quality

Works great for mild steel. 1/8”-1/4” Not sure how it would work on anything else or any thicker. I used it to make about 25 holes an tapped for eyebolts without an issue

Absolutely a fabrication necessity. These save me tons of time. Use a decent cutting oil, and this will last a long time. You've got to go straight, or you'll bind, and possibly break it. The smaller ones will definitely break,but this bad boy is beefy. I've worn 2 out, but they can be resharpened on the bit side. The taps are never an issue. Again use lube, and you'll save yourself 50% of the wear n tear. These definitely will save you a ton of time, use medium speed, and don't go past the tap, you could cross strip it. I go to the center of the tap (widest point), and reverse out slowly, but not slow. Get one, you'll wonder why you waited!

It literally failed on the first hole. I have used these types of bit/tap tools for years and I love them, but this one shattered almost immediately.

Best way to drill and tap for the rated material thickness.

Worked great. Used it to tap for 4 bolts in my trucks frame. Was sure it would break. But did a flawless job and still in good condition. Great for the money.

Despite being the Walt it is very very bad quality. It only lasted 2 use and it broke!! Very very disappointed.

Good quality bit!

I’ve used these before, and they were great. I bought 2 this time to use one as a back up. Both snapped. Straight out the box and into the makita impact driver and going through the metal and both snapped. Wouldn’t recommend.

Tried it out once and it worked perfectly as designed.
