Mederma Scar Cream + SPF

Purchased several times for post op scar needs. Works well for scar massage & has sun protection 30 in the cream.

I’ve been using this scar cream consistently and really like that it includes SPF 30. It’s easy to apply, absorbs well into the skin, and doesn’t feel greasy. I appreciate having sun protection built in, especially for areas that are exposed during the day. The texture is smooth and lightweight, and it layers well under other skincare products. With regular use, the scar area looks more even and well cared for. A little goes a long way, so the tube lasts longer than expected.

This is GREAT sunscreen to cover your scar, such as on your face or arms where the sunlight will be on it. You know you are supposed to keep your new scar out of the sun and this does that while treating it with the scar cream. It is white but absorbs really well and will disappear in a few minutes, does not leave anything to see except a slight shiny area but nobody will notice that. You might want to get the larger tube as you will use a lot of it. And yes it works, I have seen great results on my forehead scar in 2 months using this and the regular Mederma. But there is a difference!!! The regular Mederma (without sunscreen) dries to a crusty shiny hard surface. It also flakes off easily. I am sure it is working but you do see and feel the regular Mederma. NOT this one with the sunscreen, it is a different formula and is MUCH more comfortable on the skin and concealed.

Prior to my surgery, the physician recommended I purchase Mederma to help with the wound and scarring. I began using it as soon as the bandages were removed and the healing is going well, and the scarring is barely visible. I will continue to use for a while; it's been about a month since the surgery. It's easy to use. The main drawback is the odor, but I'm happy to contend with that for a lifetime of better-looking skin around the surgical site. I'm 100% satisfied with the results so far.

Helps with the scar but made me break out and have acne is that area after using for a month so had to discontinue

Should be zero stars. This is just sunscreen. It does not have any active ingredient to treat scars. Complete rip-off. Save your money and use whatever sunscreen you have laying around. Calling this scar cream should be illegal.
