This light strip is really easy to set up. There are many options to choose from for which color of light you want and they are all very pretty. You can even make your own blend of colors and save them as a "Do It Yourself" color option for up to six colors. Of course there are also a lot of choices for patterns of light, but I only know that they work well as a solid light because all of the flashing/blinking/fading in and out of lights triggers vertigo for me so I avoid them. And lastly, you can also choose the brightness of the lights. We live in an older home that was never wired for overhead lights in our living room, although they exist in the rest of the house. Strange. Anyway, instead of always using floor lamps, I thought these would be pretty to run along our ceiling for a softer overall light. And by choosing different colors or light variations it is easy to set the mood of the room. I chose this set because it advertised "strong adhesive tape" and said it can be used on a "rough and irregular surface." Since my walls are painted, they have an irregular surface like you would find from painting with a paint roller. It's slight, but it's still there. The adhesive on this strip of lights is a 3M foam strip which works really well to hold it in place. During the day, the light strip is not very noticeable against my off-white walls (see photo 1). When it gets dark and I turn these lights on, I'm amazed at how well they light up my living room (see photos 2). This is only one set of lights. I bought a second set for the other wall, but we haven't put it up yet. I'm excited to see how bright it will be with a set on each wall!

While visiting a friend's home, I was entranced by these lights on her porch and decided to buy them for my own home. Installation could not have been easier, and within minutes, I was enjoying my own light show. I didn't pull the backing to use the adhesive on the back because I wasn't sure if I had chosen the best placement. Instead, I put a little tape at intervals to keep them in place. That worked fine so I can't speak to the quality of the adhesive. These are high quality lights and provide a wealth of variety to the show depending on one's mood. I envision multicolor for Christmastime, green for St. Patrick's Day, red for Valentine's Day, Orange for Halloween--the combos are endless. But sadly, after a week or so, the remote stopped working. I had to use the plug to turn them on and off, but I was unable to change the color or movement of the lights without the remote. I went back to the Q&A on the product description and saw that the same thing had happened to another purchaser. The seller had replied to that person with remedies. I tried these, but they didn't work. I also noticed that they had provided an email in the event the remedies did not help so I used it. The following day, the seller responded with an apology. They told me to order a new remote from the link they provided and they would refund the cost. I ordered, and promptly received acknowledgment from Amazon that the purchase price was refunded. Today, I received the new remote and installed it--voila! Everything works perfectly. I could not be happier with this purchase. I heartily recommend it.

Placed them in my room for ambient lighting.----------------------------2nd Review Posting 11/28/18The LED strip has been still working fantastic just as I got it day 1, which I use it daily for my main room lighting in the evening and sometimes leave it on the lowest brightness through out the night. The adhesive is still stuck good on my desk and bed top. The IR remote did stop functioning which I contacted Xiajun Luo US (the sellers) and they went above and beyond my expectations. They refunded me the 7$ needed for a new remote and IR receiver even though my 1 year warranty was just slightly past it period. These are pretty good. They were more bright than I expected. The sticky side of the lights does not last long. I had to tape it down to my walls. I had intended to put 3 sets in my bedroom, but after puting 2 i realized it would be too bright. The remote is alright, besides the fact that you really need to point to the sensor for it to work. The color selection is pretty good, and getting them set up did not take long. Overall a really good product and really inexpensive. I've been having these for more than a month and the lights have not gone hot, so i doubt there will be any fires. However, i do take safety procautions and dim them at night.
