VacmasterStandard Cartridge Filter & Retainer for Use With 5 to 16 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacs

I’ve used a few of these in my 6.5 gallon Shop Vac now which mainly gets used for vacuuming fine ash out of wood pellet stoves in the winter and cleaning barbecue scale and sludge in the summer. These filters seem to work well with no apparent dust or ash getting past them to be blown back out into the atmosphere, I end up knocking the debris out of the filter to clean it a few times before replacing it once annually. Sometimes it gets so plugged with fine ash that it looks like a solid canister but after cleaning it out it’s good to go again. My one word of caution however would be to save the attaching sealing cover off the bottom off your original Shop Vac filter as the ones supplied with these don’t seem to fit my Shop Vac. I’ve used the original that came with the vacuum over and over again to hold these filters in place and just end up throwing the ones that come supplied with it away.

Durable and I have used and cleaned similar filter many times. Cannot comment on how effective it is on filtering air.

Product arrived early and was a good quality filter. Although I had to return it because it wasn't the right size filter that I required.

They sent two that don’t fit my 5 gallon?Waste of time and money
