Universal Air Conditioner KT 3239 A/C Compressor and Component Kit

1997 C1500 WT, 4.3L TBI My old compressor leaked bad. I had my system vacuumed to check for leaks after the new parts were installed and to pull any moisture and dye. The pressure switch IS NOT included, I picked one up at Advance for like $25. After I got it in, plugged the pigtail in, the compressor wouldn’t cycle. It wasn’t cycling from the switch still reading an open loop from the switch being bad I assume... I jumped my pigtail with a paper clip and haven’t had any problems. I plan to buy the same kit or similar for a family members 1995 C1500 5.7L TBI and all seems to be the same parts.

This compressor worked great for just over a month. After that, it locked up and wouldn’t do anything. I replaced all a/c components other than evaporator, and flushed that system. So there was no chance of any metal or other debris being in the system. I followed the installation guide that came with the compressor to the T, and used a good set of A/C gauges and vacuum pump to dry and refill the system. Not my first rodeo. I just didn’t realize that for a warranty replacement that they require you to use a professional mechanic shop with receipts to verify installation. My mistake.... unfortunately. Since the warranty route was a no-go, I decided to open the compressor. One of the roller bearings was ripped apart and bent, sending little roller balls into the rest of my system.... oh joy. Now this cheap compressor has caused me to probably need to replace my condenser AGAIN, as well as flush the system AGAIN, and go through the whole headache. You get what you pay for. Don’t go cheap, and don’t expect an easy warranty process unless you have paid a mechanic shop to do all the work and verify info. I contacted the manufacturer (UAC) as well, and they refused any warranty option since I didn’t buy it from them directly. No surprise.

I bought this compressor for my 97 Sierra in 2019 and it’s still going strong 💪🏻

bought for a 98 chevy half ton and was sceptial at first. but it arrived on time and was everything it said it was. went on with no problems and has been working great for couple months. would buy again.

Bolted right up to my 99 gmc 2500. Good quality. My old crew cab is staying nice and cold now.

Do not purchase for a 96-98 Silverado, ports are different and it will not work. I installed it, properly pressurized the system and it would not work, decided to drop the truck off at a shop since I no longer had the time to mess with it myself and they came to the same conclusion, trying to save a dollar made me waste a bunch of money and time.

Everything I needed to change came in this kit.
