My 10 year old can hear his friends but they can't hear him. What are we doing wrong?

I think it is the volume dial, I couldn’t hear anything at first until I adjusted it. It is on the same side as the microphone, it’s a black dial thing that you can move to put the volume up and down. Hope this helps!

How do I get both ears to work?

Get a hardware engineer to fix it or buy new ones

Only the left side works how do I fix that?

the 3.5mm has an issue check that it is not bent, rotate it, if both sides work then the 3.5 mm jack has an issue. if it is broken, there is no fix, since the plug is fixed.
