Some of the teeth had broken off the original. This was easy to swap it out with. Been working great.

Bottom line up front: This was received as described, is a good value, and I was able to install it without too much hassle. Longer version: The free wheel on my Walmart-special Schwinn bike broke while I was riding around the neighborhood; I can only assume this was due to incorrect assembly. After a little research (I didn't even know what a free-wheel was), I was able to determine that the freewheel was the component that had broken, and could in-fact be replaced without a professional. $25 and a couple Youtube videos later I was able to remove the broken freewheel and install the new one. Be aware, you can do do this job with pipe wrenches but it is better to have bike tools (not expensive) or go to a local bike shop if you aren't confident in taking on a job like this. I recommend watching a couple installation videos before buying to decide if you want to take this on versus see a professional.

Nice freewheel at a good price. This freewheel is threaded and screws onto a hub with threads that match. It can be installed without tools and even if you don’t tighten it all the way it tightens by pedaling. If you need to remove it however you need a freewheel tool like the Park Tool FR1 with a large adjustable wrench or if you have vice it is almost effortless.

Great replacement part for my road bike. Works smoothly as new.
