Ahhh!!
Ok. If you seen a sick n twisted cartoon, when ya was young, John ending up in the joint, possibly reminds ya of that. Now try an forget the goofy art, concentrate on the tale, & doll like John C. Freaks ya out completely, till, the next artists take the book. Now here cometh the Johnny we're all used to.& You settle on in, as, like a phantasm, Johnny, appears long trench, & as cool as ever, it's all in his eyes, jet black punk eye liner, as he approaches, a familiar setting for him, along with plenty road kills, & questions. But don't pick up Hitchers ya idgits.Especially, not ones who look like a spiky, blonde Englishman, with a white shirt, & black pants, & a loose school boi tie, & black coms.Duh, ya jus don't.Car crash later, the Mage outside the car, surveying his work, completely fine. The remorseless, jerk off, car thieves & stupid idgits, who decided to give the strange, Mage a ride in the first place, were unaware of their mysterious passengers jinX like Legacy. Johnny C uses to his advantage. He magiqes his way safely from the vehicle, as it never inside the back seat cabin, at all. After we see panels of the After mathe, brain matter, an such, as if Death now looks on,John pops the trunk, to find the boyfriends girl friend naked & frightened, as John tells her in his emotionless way, ya alright now lov.The girl escapes bewildered through the wood lands. As John continues on his next destination, a bar & awaits one of the brothers grimace. He isn't all that sure, what Johnny is there for.John tells him his stupid brother, killed himself. That John had no intention to do so, that he was blamed for the murder, but not the criminal act.The brothers nutz, but he believes JC.& Soon Johnny is getting an invitation to join the brother Gimpy, for a whole new humiliating experience, Johnny himself can't believe...Read, this un, it is bad, & get's so bizarre it's good. After Virginia, a Blustery tale begins, it is classic John Constantine, mayhem & in the Iceman, John plays with the combined fears carried by the townes folk, & their very own boogeyman. Along with the added terror, of four uninvited bastards who believe Johnny is the Iceman, & as chill as ever, John handles the others as puppets in his own show. The idiots were lucky that John was on the case, as he grins knowingly, & swaggers away feeling vilified, by the sash, he witnessed.Last tale a mod to Nergal, the Demon that took Extra Loage to hell.We flash back to a susceptible, yet seemingly precocious young Ladd, named John Constantine.Who by the look of it, has no clue yet, what mate he just came across.John would have remembered Nergal tho.So this harbinger of the Demon, Nergal, really doth holds no future, in the He'll Blazers' historical account. But a fun concept, for fans of the John Constantine comic, to postulate over.Cheeky devilles6:Cheers, & Ta !

Off to America.
Here we are, 150+ issues into one of the most classic comics to come out of Vertigo. Brian Azzarello is the fifth writer to make a major contribution to this comic, and he offers one of the freshest takes in a while. This comic begins with Conjob serving a life sentence in an American prison, so let's just say things don't start off well for Constantine. Over the course of the series, we learn a few details of what happened to him. This consists almost entirely of three arcs. The first and third of these are pretty good, but 'Good Intentions' was a bit lackluster. As a writer, Azzarello writes some great dialogue. The man really knows how to adapt dialogue to reflect regional accents, so if you're American like me, there's an extra level of familiarity to this edition. I look forward to the next one.

Up there with Dangerous Habits
Bought all the Hellblazer trades in digital formats when there was a sale so I’ve been re-reading them. Back in the day it was my favorite comic.Constantine a.ways works better IMO in long multi-part stories the one shots have always been filler and this collects some longer stories. Top notch Vertigo.

Ew
While the story is good, it is very dark and gross. If you aren’t into prison rape and bestiality, you might skip this one and just read a summary.I need to floss my brain.

Great!
Absolutely one of the best collections of Constantine ever. The names on the cover say it all, so all I have to say is read this. A bit of madness, some magic, some of the old ultra violence. Well worth reading.

EXCELLENT SERIES!
This series started great, and yet gets better and better with each new Volume. Highly recommended!

Worst in the series so far
I love hellblazer for all its dark themes and weird plots. However, this pushes it too far with the author throwing in themes such as rape and bestiality simply for shock value. Plus I hate the artwork throughout.

Hellblazer is a great comic!
John Constantine is such an amazing character to read. The plot is amazing, the art style is unique, and the setting is dynamic. I highly recommend picking this comic book up!
