Very nice! And no mess like the leather wheel with honing paste.Gets knives razor sharp!Worth every penny.Friend turned me on to this product.He has honed over 500 knives, plane blades, chisels and scissors with the wheel and still has tons of life left!

Works very well
I have been using the Tormek leather wheel with paste, this is an improvement. I'm a professional sharpener, with volume use the paste becomes messy, and is a bit expensive. I don't know how long this wheel will last, I can see it losing material as I use it, but it doesn't change shape and is much cleaner. (Any time I can eliminate a step, applying past in this case, or a consumable like the $15 tubes of paste, other brands are no better, I've profited.) And, wetting the wheel helps it work, it does a nice polish.

Very pleased with results. No longer need to add the compound to use. Worth the additional cost.

Works, but not great
I had high hopes for this, but didn't see a big improvement in sharpness at all. To get the best results, I use polishing compound, just like I did with the old leather wheel. No, the compound did not ruin the wheel. In fact, it now sharpens pretty darn well. The only upside is that the wheel is entirely seamless, making for a very smooth stropping session.
