For Suunto D4 and D4i Dive Computer Watch Replacement Battery Kit

OK if you do Suunto dive computers - you know they have one achilles heel - the battery replacement. usually it's a 100$ job at a shop. yes, yes, yes - they pressure test it - i know. But for a few bucks - i can do this job myself - and the computer was out of warranty anyways. So i'm quite happy to do this job myself. Everything i needed was in the kit - EXCEPT the hex screwdriver. Make sure you get one - you'll need it to take the screws off the back. Other than that - did it myself - silicone lube on the o-ring -and it's working fine.

Update: the seller sent me the correct size battery after I posted this review. Great customer service. Apparently it’s the plastic battery housing that causes the improper fit. Original post: The photo shows a Sony battery, but it came with a Panasonic battery, which has a thicker rim and does not fit the Suunto D4. I’ve run into this issue before. Make sure you get the Sony CR2450.

Fit and worked with D4

Received the kit to change the Suunto D4F watch battery for an upcoming trip. After taking the watch apart, and installing what I thought was a fresh battery, (the kit came with a battery called "Renata batteries"). I reinstalled the back watch battery cover with the provided o-ring, screwed down the cover, only to turn the watch over and see the battery guage on the watch flashing as if almost a dead battery. Doesn't this seller realize that the whole purpose of changing the BATTERY was to install a fresh battery!!. Extremely frustrating!!!!!!!

Kit seemed to be decent quality, but I installed the battery in November of '24, have used the watch on 4 dives since then, and now, July of '25, the battery is already dead. Seems to be hit and miss with this seller if you get a real fresh battery or not.

The customer service was fantastic unfortunately the battery and o-ring did not fit my d4i novo. There are multiple types of this 2450 battery and a few of them have a slightly larger lip on the battery and don’t fit. It’s really hard to catch though and even my local dive shop tried to put the wrong battery in. There is a standard 2450 battery that does not end with the letter n or v that is needed for the suunto D4i novo computer. I’ve spent hours trying to look up if the D4i and the D4i novo take the same battery but wasn’t able to find any info. The company that ships this was amazing though and gave me a full refund.

Worked awesome, and not hard to replace at all.
