nice little light
I've been using this light for a week now and so far so good. It's obviously not as bright as a regular light but still pretty good when I compare it to how dark my backyard looks without it. It's bright enough to see objects and not trip over anything but dont expect to do any reading with it. The light is a lot dimmer 10-15ft out or that could just be all my trees blocking the light. The light has 3 settings.Sens: for sensitivityI currently have it set at the lowest setting because it seems way too sensitive if I turn it higher up. At the lowest setting, it is enough to pick up people's movement but not my dogs. So when I let the dogs out to pee at night, it only turns on when a human go out.Lux: for level of light before it turns onI have this set to the lowest too since I dont want it turning on during the day and so far it's only turned on at night even with the gloomy & rainy weather the last few days. (Hey it still charges. Yay!)Timer: for how long the light stays on (pretty self-explanatory)The light does what it's suppose to. It charges even with gloomy weather (keep in mind I dont use it that much and one charge should last several hours). Been fine with the rain although nothing heavy since it's summer. I like that it uses regular AA rechargeable batteries if you have to switch out the batteries. It is 180 degrees because it turns on the moment I walk around the corner of the house into the backyard. Remember to point the sensor towards the path. My brother had just installed it as is and it was pointing at the trees. It would turn on every night due to the movement of the leaves and branches until I adjusted the tilt and turned down the sensitivity. I would recommend this if all you need is a little bit of light when you need it and there's no power outlet there. Would not recommend if you need more light. Hope this helps.UPDATE 1-1-2012Still working well. What more can I say? It was money well spent.UPDATE 8-27-12Still working although I've had to clean the sensor or it get's hard to sense movement. It's lived through wind and rain, not that the weather gets so bad here. It's also held up well to the vast amounts of dust that come by as I live right next to an extremely busy freeway and a major intersection.UPDATE 11-23-14Still going strong and we barely ever clean it. Works rain or shine.Update 1/14/16Still works and it's been raining pretty hard now that California is coming out of the drought. Just realized I've yet to change the AA batteries in this light. I like this type of light so much that I've bought two others in the last year (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D0Z0JWQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage). The new lights are brighter and function pretty much the same way but no telling about longevity yet.

Little Light, careful where you need it for
First - let me tell you what I LOVE about this light. The settings, for me at least, as easy to use and offer a wide range of choices. It has three control setting. When you want the light on, day time to night time, your choice anywhere in that time frame. How LONG you want the light to stay on once it senses motion (stays on the through all motion, the timer starts when the motion stops) from two to four minutes. I would say 45 seconds to five minutes is a little more accurate. And Sensitivity, from high to low. I want mine to pick up cars and people, so I set it to medium. So far the rabbits and skunks are still in the dark, my daughter has a lighted path from the driveway to the porch. It is easy to install, but you may want to get a little stronger 'mollys' if you live in a windy place or are installing it on sophit instead of wood. It is durable - we dropped it ten feet during installation - it still works and didn't break! The light is bright enough in pitch dark (no solar powered light will ever match an electric light in my lifetime!!) a soft glow that doesn't blind you or attract bugs. The ability to point the two lights where ever you want makes it perfect for Driveways and walkways, or two corners of your house! The solar panel is adjustable in angles, so you can find the best location for the panel without compromising where you put the light (LONG cord between the two as well).Second - what I don't like. This unit has a 25' sensory range. Seems like a lot, more then enough. BUT if you put it up on your 15 foot garage peek, you really have a ten foot motion sensory range on the ground. The sensory does have a 180 degree range, and can be pointed/positions to the area you need to pick up motion in, but unless you are installing it on the ground, expect to have to be up closer before it lights your way.Over all - great product...I will be getting a few more (now that I know where I need to install them to get the best light coverage from them).

Easy to install security light
My mother in law needed more light in the walkway leading to her garage. With the interior walls already insulated & finished out, it would have been a major undertaking to wire in a 110 volt security light. This Maxsa light was just the ticket. While not bright enough to light up the whole yard, it is perfectly adequate for its intended use. During daylight & even dusk hours, it doesn't seem all that bright, but at night, it lights up her walkway up to about 30 feet from the door enough to see well enough you don't stumble. The two lamp heads are a plus, as her walk has a corner in it, and you can angle each one to shine where you want it to. Being LEDs, the bulbs should never need replacing.Installation was simple, just 4 screws & it was up. It is light & easy to install, and the solar panel can be about 8 feet from the main unit and still have the cord reach, a plus if you want the lights under a door overhang, as you can put the solar panel up where the sunlight will reach it. Setting takes a little time, but is straightforward. Adjustments include: Time 'on' after motion stops, sensitivity, or distance from sensor before the light turns on, and how dark/light you want conditions before the light comes on. I found it easiest to set the first two settings during the day, with the light adjustment set to full daylight, and then waited in the evening to about the conditions I wanted the light to come on, and set the dark/light dial so it would just turn on. The instructions warn you only have so much light between charges, so you don't wanting it to turn on during the day if the neighbor's dog wanders by and use up the batteries. What swayed me to this light over others was the fact is uses standard rechargable AA batteries, instead of a special purpose built battery. When the time comes, I know I'll be able to replace them easily & cheaply.

does not like cold weather
I live in Alberta and I hooked this spotlight up in March. I could not get the sensor to work and after many adjustments gave up. I had read other reviews on this product and guessed what was happening. One night in May I pulled into the driveway andBANG!! The light was on. That was great, the sensors were finally warm enoughto work. Unfortunately I've seen the light work only twice, as the summer evenings are long and the morning light comes very early. I need something that works inthe winter when nights begin at 6:00 pm and morning arrives at 8:00 am.

Encendido sin sentido
Llegó a tiempo, fácil de instalar y de cargar, el problema es que el sensor prácticamente enciende las luces cuando quiere, no cuando debe. No funciona correctamente
