SUNRISE Natural Stone Bowl 36oz

Absolutely love these. We've been dabbling more with Korean / Asian-fusion cooking and these bowls have been a great addition to our kitchen. Set-up is easy - just follow the instructions - Boil with kosher salt to clean, then season with sesame oil after each use. Once you start cooking, heat them up slowly with a little sesame oil in the each bowl. After a few minutes, they will get quite hot - hot enough to sear your cooked rice, noodles, or other ingredients you might add. The family loves the crispy crust this creates and it has been lots of fun experiment with different vegetables and sauces. With at least a dozen meals using these, they appear to be holding up nicely and seem to be getting better with each use. If, like me, you like to have a well-stocked kitchen a set of these is a great add.

Heavy, well made, works great to keep soup very hot!. Just make sure you follow instructions on before using.

Heavy stone bowls perfect for Dolsot Bipim Bap. Great size and heat up well. Easy clean up. Wood tray is a nice touch.

Pretty happy with the bowl. Naturally it is good for bibimbap, but also nice for soup. I heat it directly on a gas stove. Metal ring discolors over time (not a big deal). Bowl also discolors over time. Placing bowl in the oven on the clean cycle will restore it to looking brand new but requires re-seasoning it.

I hope the manufacturer won't be offended that I bought this bowl as a water dish for my 2 cats and my dog. I had purchased so-called "no-spill" pet bowls in the past, but my cat was still able to tip and shove it around, with water spilling multiple times a day. This bowl is heavy enough that now he can't move it even when he puts his paws on the rim and tries. It holds a good amount of water, and it is really beautiful. It's much nicer having a lovely stone bowl sitting on its wooden stand instead of a metal bowl on a rumpled, water-soaked dish towel.

I ordered this bowl to use not for its intended purpose but because I have a young German Shepherd puppy that likes to dump his water bowl all over the kitchen floor. I was looking for a weighted bowl, but the purpose-made ones are only about a pound and a half (less than a kg) and he would easily be able to drag those around. This bowl is excellent - extremely solid, well-made, and in the last two months there has been only one bowl-dumping accident thanks to how heavy it is.
