I bought this SIM for a very specific use case: activating an LTE tracking collar for my cat. On paper, it looked perfect — data-only, nationwide compatibility, no contract. In practice, I hit a wall immediately. The tracker I’m using requires SMS during the activation/setup process. This SIM is data-only, which means no SMS capability at all. As a result, the device couldn’t complete activation, even though the SIM itself seemed to connect to the network just fine. That part is important: this SIM isn’t broken. It’s doing exactly what it says it does. The issue is that a lot of GPS trackers, IoT devices, and imported LTE collars quietly rely on SMS for: • initial pairing • configuration commands • activation confirmation If your device needs even a single text message to get started, this SIM won’t work for you. ⸻ What It’s Good For • Devices that are truly data-only • Trail cameras or security devices that don’t require SMS • Users who already know their hardware doesn’t rely on text-based setup What It’s Not Good For • GPS trackers or pet collars that require SMS activation • Anyone unsure whether their device needs texting for setup • Trial-and-error setups where SMS might be required later ⸻ Final Thoughts I’m giving this 3 stars because the product itself seems fine — it just wasn’t compatible with my use case, and that limitation isn’t always obvious when you’re dealing with LTE/IoT devices. Works very well and is easy to use. At $10 per month, it’s an affordable option for our Reolink outdoor security system.

The EIOT SIM card is so easy to use and has saved me a considerable amount of money. The remote location I needed Internet at for my cameras was going to cost me anywhere from $70-90 a month for Internet connection. After reading the reviews on different routers I decided to purchase a cudy 4 G LTE WIFI ROUTER and give the EIOT card a try. It works flawlessly, activation was simple, even though I’m not very technically inclined. I have 6 cameras that work great on that system and am thrilled with my set up. Thank you EIOT for saving me lots of $$$$. I would purchase again. Thank you.

I love the EIOT sim cards. I have been using them for over 5 years. I currently have 10 in my cameras around my property. Customer service is always quick to assist with any issues I have. They have many different options for service, from 30 days to 720days. I have REOLink cameras and the EIOT Sim card with 5G/4G data only thru ATT&T and T-Mobile have great coverage. These sim card only support data, No voice or text capability. I recommend.
