Poor QC. Not balanced and barely quieter than the dying OEM fan.
My NUC 8 was starting to sound like a dollar-store electric razor so I went on a hunt for a replacement fan. For such an expensive fan (older generation NUCs could use $15 replacements), I expected better quality control. While it's quieter than the OEM fan that was dying, it's still not silent like when the NUC was brand new. I hear a chattering like a few fan blades keep making a sweeping contact with the metal housing when it spins up. I'll have to open up the NUC once again to see if I can settle it down, but if not, I'll have to send this one back and try another brand. It definitely fits perfectly into a Bean Canyon NUC (8th Gen), and from what I can estimate based on the sound it's emitting, it probably is fairly quiet. But my unit either got damaged from shipping or they didn't do any cursory testing when it left the assembly line. Update: I took the fan back out to try and re-seat the blades back onto the spindle. It was a tiny bit quieter afterward, but it was obvious that there was still contact with some of the plastic blades with the metal casing. That was good for about 48 hours. Now, the fan is completely silent. Silent because it no longer works. It's a good thing that modern electronics have all sorts of temperature sensors and will throttle/shut down before overheating. Even still, I picked up my NUC to put my rattling OEM fan back in and it was uncomfortable to touch because it was so hot. This is now going back to Amazon as I search for another fan to try.

Nico fans
Installed in my Nuc9 several weeks ago and it's going strong. Nice and quiet just like the OEM fan.

Started making noise after 4 months
Total bummer... considering how hard it is to replace the fan in the NUC - and the cost of this fan, it's a total bummer that it started making noise less than 4 months after installing it. It makes noise ALL the time, so I need to replace it AGAIN.

Not so great
Worked great for a few months in the NUC, then sounded like the old fan I just replaced.
