Q: is this the dark original color?

I am not sure if it is the original dark color. The color is an off white or cream color when squeezed out of the tube.

Q: Do you get two tubes, as shown, with this order?

No. As of November 2020, they are only shipping 1 tube of Lubriplate.

Q: Is this a pretty thin creamy looking lubricant? Like we had in the '60s? It might have been this company's first product.

I would say that Lubriplate's grease is creamy, as you stated. It spreads remarkably well yet doesn't run. Originally, I used this for my M1A only. Now, I run it on every gun. I decided to stick with Lubriplate since it adheres incredibly well to nitride parts and parkerized, especially. I do believe this product is the same that was released in the early 60's.

Q: Is this equivalent to Mobil gear OGL or Shell Malleus GL 205?

I looked at the Lubriplate site and it doesn't give a direct match.
