I just started playing Bocce and I love this set! Great carry bag, sturdy balls. The only problem is that the string is not long enough to measure the distance between balls but that is no big deal. I carry a little measuring tape with me now. I see other reviewers complain that the balls get marked up. Hello! You are hitting balls into eachother, what do you expect? They are sturdy and handle the banging very well. Very pleased with my purchase!

When we finally moved into a house with a backyard larger than a postage stamp, we wanted a simple way to take advantage of it on a nice summer day. Bocce ball is very much like shuffleboard or bowling; some people take it way too seriously, but for the rest of us it's a fun and easy game to play with a group of non-pros.The balls are heavy and resilient. We have had them bash together from some overly-aggressive tosses and none of them have cracked or chipped. The measuring string is a bit cheap, but it works perfectly fine for the too-close-to-tell shots and has little knots to make measuring easier. The case is strong enough to lug the set around it and includes a divider to keep the bottom layer and top layer from banging against each other or shifting around in the bag.All in all, I have zero complaints with this set, and it has served us well, even on our out-of-regulation backyard!

I bought this set as a gift for my brother and sister-in-law in 2011. I liked it because it had a lot of good reviews, four colors for multiple players, and it had a nice carrying case. I wasn't sure about the quality, but I have it a shot.It's been 3 years, my brother and his wife have taken this set everywhere--the beach, backyards, camping--they love it. It's a quality set that has held up well over the past few years. At this point, the at has only suffered the normal wear-and-tear expected with use (a bunch of scratches). We played it as a family at our last reunion and my mom admired the set so much that my dad decided to buy it for her this Christmas.Great game, great set.

Caught the bocce bug from PS3's Sport Champions Move game (don't laugh), and I did a lot of Amazon review reading before settling on this set to try the game in real life. And I have played twice a week since it arrived (two days early, might I add!)The set is durable (and 23 pounds -- carrying it with your nondominant arm is a nice workout), and the four colors opens up the game to a group verses pairs. There's nothing I would change.I suggest having a weekly game over lunch; it's a nice reason to get outside -- away from the glowing rectangles -- to socialize and absorb some Vitamin D. Also, it seems that guys who frequent Downtown Orlando's largest public park would rather watch you play instead of throw their footballs, so it could be good for an icebreaker if you're in an area where bocce is relatively unknown.

Product appears to be in good shape, I expect these will be fun to play with and meet my expectations.I'm giving 3 stars mainly because of the condition my package was received in. These items were packed in a small box, and placed inside of a larger box along with one other item I purchased which just happened to be a metal rack. The large box looks like it was kicked here from its shipping location, I'm relieved that this item was only shipped with a metal rack because it probably would've destroyed anything delicate that was packed with it. The small box didn't fair any better, it was busted up in multiple places. The paper packing material and flimsy boxing was insufficient to ship such a heavy package without risking damage to whatever its sent with.If you decide to order these I'd recommend making it a separate order, do not bundle this item with other things that may break during shipping. This seems like a great product but it does not play well with others during shipment!

I planned a summer party this year and thought it might be fun to try playing Bocce. I had never played before but I didn't want to get a cheap set or a "starter" set, I wanted the real thing. I bought this set and it looks great. Good weight and the case is sturdy. I brought it out during the party and it was used the entire rest of the day in the yard. Since then my friends and I have played several more times and the set is holding up just fine. There are a few tiny scratches on some of them but that's just normal wear and tear. Accidentally hitting the bricks lining the trees in my yard probably doesn't help, but they took the hit just fine! This is a really nice set for a good price, I would very much recommend them.

I bought this set for my father-in-law, and got a chance to play over the July 4th weekend. The balls have a good heft to them (not light, like some others I've used), and the bag is fine. I think another reviewer stated there were no instructions. At least in this shipment, there was a single-sided 8.5x11" page of instructions at the top of the bag.Because they are made of resin, I noticed some marks and scratches on the balls before the first round was even over, but they didn't affect gameplay (roll, bounce, etc.).One minor gripe is that the set has four colors, instead of two, but that's easily overlooked when having a blast playing bocce with friends and family.I'm going to order a set for myself once I'm done with this review. I want to use these on grass, the beach, anywhere.

So far the actual set seems of great quality (we just got it yesterday, first use today.) However, the bag, not so much. The clear plastic on top has already ripped right away from the stitching, just from the balls shifting slightly when the bag was tilted for a moment. Perhaps we got a defective bag? I'd love to have a replacement sent to me so I can find out. I should probably have given this a lower rating because of the bag, but as I mentioned the set quality seems great, and as this bag was perhaps defective, I didn't want to undeservedly drag the rating down.

The Bocce set itself is great. Nice weight and feel. The only thing that didn't impress me was the carrying case. It has a thin plastic top and the bag didn't feel strong enough to carry the weight. The balls will last a long time but we have already talked about making a new case or at least strengthening the one that came with it.

Received today and it is just as expected. Seems like great quality, however I was alarmed to read the warning on the box, which was not listed in the selling description, "WARNING - This product may contain a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm". If I had of known this, I would have likely chosen another product.

Great look, heavy I should say over a thousand gram each. Not tested on the field yet.

Great bocci set for the money..Very professional set...
