Messy but works!
The media could not be loaded. I am updating my formal living room and will post more pictures of the front of the fireplace so you can really see how this tool was helpful with creating a brick look. I still had to clean up the impression but this tool is well worth it for creating that brick look without actually needing to do any reconstruction or buying expensive panels!

Worked for what I needed it for
I used this brick roller with a "thick-ish" layer of dry wall medium to make a faux fireplace mantle. If it didn't look right, I spread the medium and rolled it again. A spray bottle helped it not stick too much to the roller. And regularly rinsing off the roller helped too. This picture is after it dried well and then primed it.

It’s much harder than it looks to do. Be sure to practice on some scraps of plywood first, and watch some online video tutorials. Seriously. And prepare to be messy.I’m really happy with the result, especially since it cost me about 50 bucks instead of the $800 premade panels would’ve been
