Really comfortable boots as long as you buy the right size. Don't go more than a half size up.
Before buying these boots I think it's really important to hop on over to the Sorel site first and take a look at their fit/sizing guide and product description to help decide whether or not these boots are for you. These boots are known to run small, they're not insulated on the inside and Sorel says they're best suited for heavy rain. I live in NY and I personally wouldn't wear them in snowy or slushy weather even with thick wool socks. I have a pair of insulated Sorel Sorelli Tall Boots that are better suited for the snow and very cold weather.I normally wear flats, sandals and shoes that DON'T require socks in a size 8. With sneakers, boots and shoes that DO require socks I usually go for a size 8.5. However with the Out N About boots I needed a 9 which is a half size up from my usual boot size. Based on all the conflicting reviews, I wasn't sure what size to get so I actually contacted Sorel's customer service via phone and email. Even then I got conflicting info. Their phone rep said Sorel had fixed the issue with their manufacturer and that I should order my true size but their email rep said that I should order a whole size up. I wasn't sure what to do so I ordered the Out N About boots in a size 8.5, size 9 and size 9.5. The size 8.5 fit too snugly on my bare feet and allowed no wiggle room whatsoever. The size 9 was the most comfortable fit with socks. The size 9.5 looked way too large and clownish on my feet. I noticed with the 9.5 that not only did the shoes get a whole lot longer on my feet (obviously) but the fit of the boot shaft around my ankles got a lot wider as well. It made me look like a little girl playing in mommy's shoes; my feet were swimming in those boots. The shoes expand slightly and fit much better after wearing them for a bit anyway so, if you ask me, don't go more than a half size up from your normal boot size.Prior to buying these boots I'd contemplated getting the LL Bean duck boots but in the end settled on the Sorel Out N About which, to me, appear less preppy. I like the low/flat heel and the more casual look of the Sorel shoes which in my opinion combine the classic look of duck boots with that of a high top sneaker. They're also very versatile. In addition to all the photos of people wearing these boots in colder weather, I've seen lots of people on Instagram and Pinterest styling these shoes with shorts and skirts for warmer weather and they look really cute worn that way too.On Black Friday I ordered the Out N About boots in the blue Dark Mountain color as well as Black in size 9 and they fit exactly the same. Both boots are leather but the Black is a smooth leather whereas the Dark Mountain is a pebbled leather with a gray canvas lining. I've seen a few people say that the entire upper exterior of the blue Dark Mountain boots is canvas but I have to disagree. One part of the Dark Mountain boots that isn't lined with canvas is the pull tab/loop on the top back of the boots and if you look on the underside of the loop you'll be able to see the fuzzy, natural grain of the leather.I've had a chance to wear both boots for a couple of months now and I prefer the pebbled leather finish of the Dark Mountain boots because it doesn't show scuff marks as easily as the smooth leather. Back in April I ordered the Out N About boots in the gray Quarry color but returned those because even new they already showed scuff marks from bouncing around in the shoebox before they showed up on my doorstep. I took several photos of the Black and Dark Mountain boots on the day I first received them and, brand new from the box, the smooth leather Black boots showed just as many scuff marks as the Quarry boots but thankfully are harder to see on the darker leather. I believe the Black, Elk, Quarry and Sage color Out N About boots all have smooth leather and the Dark Mountain and red Gypsy color Out N About boots are pebbled leather.I was thinking about getting these boots in the Elk color as well because brown boots are so versatile but I'm finding myself loving the Dark Mountain color more than I originally thought I would. Like blue jeans and denim which many people consider modern neutrals that go with everything, the blue Dark Mountain boots pair surprisingly well with a lot of outfits. Between the Black boots and the Dark Mountain boots I think I have my neutrals covered and I don't feel like I need the Elk anymore.

Not clunky like other sorels!
I live in the PNW and was looking for an easy slip on boot for spring. My husband has urged me to get a pair of sorels for years and after trying the heavier, bulkier ones, I finally fell in love with these. They are NOT snow boots, too low for that. But they are however super comfy and fashionable for running around and not getting your feet soggy. Mine arrived very stiff in the tongue and I was hesitant to keep them. They loosened up very fast and they feel like I'm walking around in waterproof slippers all day as I step in mud puddles or play on the beach.

Purchased a new product, got worn and damaged shoes
Purchased these shoes brand new. You can see these have clearly been worn. The leather is well broken in, scratched and discolored. Very disappointed. Wanted these shoes in time for a trip, which now won’t happen. Would not recommend ordering from here.

Nope
I ordered these as a replacement for my beloved Out N About patent leather boots that I had for a few years before they finally tore. Those were amazing and true to size. These were not.Per some other reviews, I ordered a size up. Even with a whole extra size, they were tight on my toes but extremely loose in the heel. It was bizarre.Additionally, the proportions of this boot are off. The top leather part is much wider than the rubber toe/bottom, so it looks like it's bubbling over the side. It reminds me of someone wearing jeans that are too tight and their love handles are going over the sides of their pants. Not to mention--my boots came pre-soiled. The laces were already stained with what I hope was mud or chocolate.Even if they did fit, the leather looks cheaper than a lot of other Sorel products.

Love the Black &Red plaid! TTS
I read reviews and ordered .5 size up in the black & red plaid. I think my reg size would’ve worked fine too, Idk why people are saying they run small. You do have loosen the laces a lot to get your feet in and they might need to be broken in but these don’t run small in my opinion. I haven’t tried with thick socks yet but I’m sure they will be fine. It feels like they are meant to be snug around your foot either way. They are comfy from the second I put them on and really cute! These are twice as much at Buckle, so $50 something is an awesome deal. YAY!

Not “Easy On” Boot
Really cute & comfy- once on your feet. The trouble is getting them on. These are not “slip on” booties. The tab behind the boot is helpful, I just wish the lace area opened up more to get my foot in. I am a 8-8.5. The 8.5 fits well. I like them a lot, but prefer Boots I can get on easily

Run somewhat small • great quality boot
I am usually always a size 6.5 but these are narrow and snug in the toes so I went with a size 7 and that gave enough room for thick wool socks. I originally ordered a 6.5 (my regular size) and they were too snug/uncomfortable.I loved the color of the leather caramel in the photo but didn’t realize the rubber part was navy blue. That is the only reason for my return. I bought the black/elk color instead; just based on personal style preferences. The boot is rough around the ankle but with socks that cover your ankle which is what I intended - these are perfect for fall weather and a little snow or precipitation. These boots are great to wear for something lighter to run around in, without a big clunky boot that weighs you down. I own the Sorel Caribou for the colder winter months in MN.

Perfect Rain Boots
I followed the reviews and sized half a size -- true 7 and went with a 7.5 and it fit perfectly. A little snug at the toes with thick socks but it'll open up with usage for sure. They're adorable and trendy, they are waterproof for rain, though downpours will get in because the cuff is wide on the boot top. I can't really imagine wearing these in snow, my feet would freeze, even with wool socks. But it's perfect for fall rain and even maybe some light slushy conditions. Overall worth the purchase and happy I happen to come across them on sale when I got them, will update on durability as I use them in New England throughout the Fall and early frost.

too small
These look trendy and I want to like them but they are far too small, even having got a half size up from having listened to reviewers' advice. Hoping a whole size up will fit instead.

Good for walking in the rain
Bought a size up, still a snug fit. Quality is good, needs to be broken in before it becomes comfortable
