Two Year Product Review This pump is a direct replacement for the lf20 pump the lf30 is slightly different back housing. Over all the construction of the pump is fine no complaints however immediately upon installing it was quite noisy. Very much audible from the street as I drive by. BUT it does work and it works fine besides the fact that it sounds like you have a power steering issue. I installed this initially on a OEM power steering system to the e46. I ran it injuction with the OEM system for about a year and a half. Before I removed to OEM lines and reservoir/filter and replaced it with a Chase Bays Kit. If you know what that is I am here to tell you that yes this pump with work with that kit. However my pump is still quite winey although slightly quieter than the original OEM system. Note : If you are going to use this pump with a aftermarket power steering line system note you will need to file/shave some metal for easy installation of aftermarket fittings. My vehichle now runs all braided AN lines and it looks fantastic. If your on the fence about ordering one to get back on the road I personally would recommend. Its survived two winter and summers in Michigan weather and a summer in the Missouri heat and has taken back from the Midwest to the East Coast countless times. Ive probably got about 35k miles on the pump and from a functional point it has not let me down. But boy do I sound a little janky going by. But hey you can always tell that kid on the sidewalk its a supercharger whine lolll. Functionality 10 outa 10 Sound 1 outa 10 Easy of Install 10 outa 10 Price 100 out 10 If the review was just about functionality it would get 5 stars but sound is just as important and it gets none. Making a clean average of 2.5/3 outa 5 stars. Hope this helps so of you good old bimmer folks!

I was a little skeptical at first reading the reviews since they were pretty mixed. However after getting the pump aligning it with the old pump it went on just like it was from BMW. No problems. Started the car up look for leaks everything works fine. I’ll report back in 90 days to let you know but I’ll indications are it’s a keeper I shouldn’t have any problems. The pump doesn’t have to do much other than just spin based off the action being driven from the belt so I don’t think there’s much to go wrong with it.

The internals are oiled and protected. I have been running the PS pump for about 2 weeks. So far no complaints. No Noise.

Came broken, and was the wrong one for my car..fml My last 2003 e46 needed this type, learnt that the hard way. My newer 2005 needed an older style, as I learnt after getting under the car. The triangle belt wheel was brand new and broken because they cheaper out and put it in a box with no insulation or padding, must've dropped it, pissed me off, had everything out, then the new one wouldn't work, I could've put two screws in but..I need my car running
