I bought this for my son as I have had one for 25 years and it's still going strong. This is the LED version and is the brightest light from a torch I have seen. I hope the quality is as good and it gives him the quality and assurance of having an always working torch around the house.

Gives off a great light especially when it’s dark and you’re looking for the dog. Very substantial in quality

This flashlight is hefty for its size with a good, bright light. I like the silvery gray color of it; it's different from the black MagLites I already own so I can tell this new one apart right away. Worked well right out of the box as soon as I put the batteries in. I like that I don't have to cycle through several modes to turn it off -- it's just on or off. The only thing I could criticize would be the on/ off button itself. It seems to be more shallow and flush to the handle than previous flashlights I've had of this brand and a little more difficult to feel for in the dark. Otherwise a perfect flashlight and still has enough heft in case you need to use it for self-defense.
