I purchase this product to look down into the floor vents in the lower level of Our house. The vents in this level are encased in concrete and inaccessible to observe and evaluate in any other manor. Plus sides, the light brightness adjustment was as described and very helpful in the conditions within which I was working. The controls were straightforward and very easy to use right out of the box. The recording function was more than adequate for my needs and for that of most users in my opinion. Did not try it in wet conditions. Cons, the wire is not rigid enough to push further than a few feet as even when strait it tends to curl up on itself when pressure is applied. This rendering it useless for long runs. (Work around used for this below). Battery life appeared short. As I fully charges the unit out of the box. Used it for about 30 minutes and was called away for several hours. Before leaving I turned the unit off and returned to a dead unit. Opinion, for the dollars this is a good unit for 25 feet or less. When used on straight runs. I found using an electrical fish tape attached to the wire allowed me to extend the distance of usability considerably. There will be some issues with orientation when using, however with use they are manageable. For the dollars, this is a good unit when used within the parameters indicated previously. Unfortunately, I will need to upgrade to something just a little more stable for future uses. Good luck.

I bought this so I could run it down my sewer line outside to check for any pipe breaks. We just bought a rental house so I wanted to do an inspection before we get to far into renovating it. I read all of the reviews before hand so I knew I was going to need to add something to stiffen up the cable and possibly another light source. I bought a couple of 20ft sticks of 1/2” PEX and a couple of cheap LED flashlights. The plan was to tape the camera to the end of the PEX with the flashlight and run it down the pipe. Seemed like this was a solid idea. Got my supplies laid out tested my flashlights and unboxed my camera and to my surprise it did not work!! The LEDs come on and I can adjust the brightness, but I can’t get the camera to come on. I only get a blue screen, which is normally what happens when you have a connection issue. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in over 50 times. Tried blowing the usb connection point out like an old Nintendo game!! Tried charging it up to 100% and still no luck. Tried pulling the microSD card out and reinserting and still nothing. I was really needing to get this done already but now will either have to hire a plumber to scope it or buy another camera and cross my fingers. Not saying that everyone of these cameras are trash, but boy mine sure was. Just wanted to give everyone a warning to not get your hopes up.

So I really wanted this to work to inspect my 3” sewer pipe. Had a couple of backups and I wanted to know what was happening down there. It’s super easy to use right out of the box, barely needed instructions. The picture is decent and you can adjust the light brightness. The biggest downside is that the wire isn’t stiff enough to push through the pipes and make the 90’s. I went to Lowe’s and got a stiff sewer snake thingy and used electrical tape to tape the camera and wire to that making it possible to push it through together. Once in the pipes after getting acquainted with the picture on the screen I had decent success seeing the issue. I have a belly in the line that should be fairly easy to fix. All in all it did a good job for the price. But I am going to get a better system.
