A nice set with two half-sized cakes so you don't have to deal with buying two whole cakes.
Revised from 5 to 3.5 stars: Even the light rosin isn't holding up in the SoCal heat. I was initially very pleased with this set, but as the heat and humidity have really cranked up, I'm finding both rosins are too soft to use for my taste. Given this is called the "4 Seasons" set, I'm a bit bummed that one of my seasons is not included here (thought to be fair--we've been having some strangely hot and humid summers for SoCal). They are both leaving my strings caked with rosin after playing that is very hard to clean off. I have actually switched to the String House brand Olive Hard Rosin available on amazon for a whopping 4 bucks and I am quite happy with it given this heat. I'll use it until the weather settles back in again and I can go back to using the Melos.Original Review:This set is a convenient way of trying out both the light and the dark Melos rosins. You get a half-sized cake of both so you use it up at the same rate as a single full sized cake instead of having a lot of rosin sitting around drying out. You also don't need to spend twice as much for having both rosins. It's a nice way to mix things up, as the two rosins blend well, there's lots of experimenting with how much light or dark goes on the bow for best response as the weather changes. I like to tinker with things, so I also like this set because it keep things interesting.
