California Car Duster 62447-8B Mini Duster

This is the third Mini-Duster I have owned. They pick up dust better than anything else I have ever used. Some type of chemical treatment in the brush head that attracts dust like a magnet. And the dust doesn't come loose from the brush head. Just occasionally use the upholstery tool on your vacuum to make a couple swipes across the head, The red colored threads on the head will eventually turn dark. But it still picks up. I have two I've been using for years. The Mini was originally designed for auto interiors. And they work great for that. But I found it to also be the best household duster I've ever used. Even on venetian blinds !! It doesn't come with a vinal tote bag like the larger auto size. But a 0ne quart freezer grade food bag fits fine. If you have bare/hardwood floors, their floor duster beats them all. Picks up better than a vacuum and easier.

Dusting inside of a car is sometimes frustrating. Rags and even microfiber cloths move the dust but don’t really pick it up. On the other hand this duster does a great job grabbing the dust. I even use one in my house. It does a great job on ceiling fan blades and blind slats. It does have a slight chemical odor, a little like car polish, but that fades fast. Definitely recommend.

This is amazing how it cleans the dash and interior of the car. You never wash it and it just gets better every time you sue it. Don't understand why, but it just works great. I've had this one for 2+ years and had a larger one for ~10 years before that.

I have bought these dusters for every new car that I have bought for 25 years. They get used a lot and are very handy at keeping the interior clean. That fine road dust that collects everywhere is no problem. It is shaped to fit in most places like, dashes, instrument clusters, seat/headrests, door panels, dash vents, visors. You can dust every interior surfaces except the carpet and most headliners. I keep to old ones to dust that spot between the weather seal and the exterior body panels. They are not meant though for cleaning wet or muddy surfaces. Times are changing however and The California Duster has gotten smaller. The new ones are significantly smaller than previous iterations. I was surprised and had to check my order to verify. Also they no longer come in a handy plastic protective cover that keeps it clean while floating around my backseat floorboards. I would rather they do away with the handle and make it a MIT than to make it smaller. The only reason that I gave only 4 stars is the change in size and packaging.

This is a fantastic magic duster. HOWEVER, there are no instructions. After I used it, I set it on top of the box it came in, then found wax residue soaked into the box. After searching reviews, I found that you're suppose to set it on newspaper for 48 hours to soak up the excess wax before use. It left a waxy residue on my tile as well. Not cool! Should have that information up front!

I've used a California Duster in the past with other vehicles and loved how it sucked up dust and dirt and held without scratching my finish. I had gotten away from super-anal car care the last few years but with a recent purchase of a brand new 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, my Automotive wishlist her on Amazon has been growing and another California Duster has been towards the top of the "Really Want" list. I still have my old Original California Duster and it works great (like fine wine, it got better with age) but was mostly interested in this smaller one for the interior. I have a dark grey/charcoal colored interior that is patterned and almost feels 'sticky' to the touch for lack of a water word. Using a microfiber cloth didn't really clean up the dust too well and another duster I picked up here works ok on the radio console and steering wheel but not on the dash itself. Despite a few negative reviews here I decided to give it a go after a recent price drop. Picked this up for $4.63 when I figured I didn't have much to lose. Put it out on the porch for two days on a stack of newspapers as was suggested. After that I gave it a bunch of really good shakes and then ran my fingers thru the fibers a few times trying to get out any of the lose ones. That seemed to do the trick because I haven't had any issues with stray red fibers all over the place or the pad falling apart as I've read in previous reviews. Shortly after I went out to the car and cleaned the outside and the inside. Shook it out a bunch and it seemed to work great on the dash which has been a PITA since I bought the car. Afterwards I brought it inside and used it to dust my entire first floor of my house. This included behind my tv and entertainment center, on top of my refrigerator and all those other places normally buried in dust. Worked like a charm, sucked it all up and didn't let go. So I'd have to say this, just like it big brother, the Original, works like a charm. For anyone having other issues like red fibers all over the place, I'd recommend following the steps I did listed above, it worked great for me and as of now I have a great little duster that I paid less then 5 bucks for. IMO, u can't beat it.

I have one in both vehicles. Love the ease of use, picks up everything. The design makes it easy to get into tight spots. Small enough to leave in car and not stick out aesthetically.

I bought this for my husband’s new truck. He always wants it to look nice. These do work to keep interiors clean and dash dust away.

I have been using the large one for years on my car and love it, the small one is great for the inside .

You should get this. Picks up the dust so well. 100 times better than a swiffer. Love it. Only had it a week…but it’s showing a lot of promise.
