So,I finally got around to using this and made some tea with it to help with sleep. I think I use too many strips. I use three or four strips in mine, but it was so bitte it was hard to swallow. But that's great the bitter it is the better the quality. The next time I made it I use a bigger container and cooked it. It wasn't as bitter and it also again helped me have great sleep.

This was perfect to cut up and use to make both tea and tinctures.

No bits of plastic as far as I’ve been able to tell, just high quality reishi mushroom slices. If others have gotten pieces of plastic I’d assume it’s part of the bags used to grow the mycelium, and is probably completely food safe as they’d need to sterilize the bags at a high temperature and pressure anyway, and I’m not concerned about such things.The tea is great, the product is clean and I have 0 complaints. I've been drinking red reishi tea for years and usually went to a Chinese pharmacy for the sliced pieces. This is a convenient way to get about a month of tea. Yes, it's bitter...I always brew mine with a little ginger and turmeric and sometimes add a dash of lemon juice and honey. Occasionally, there is plastic on some pieces, however, that's been the case with every box/bag of red reishi slices I've had for the last 5 years! It floats to the top and is easily removable.

Found a recipie to double extract these rieshi mushrooms. My wife has psoriatic arthritis and the elixir really does ease her pain. She puts a tablespoon in her coffee every morning.The extraction is really easy. Place mushrooms in a Mason jar and fill(almost) with any alcohol over 80 proof. We use bourbon, but vodka is probably more flavorless. Leave this mix sealed in the jar for 60 days, shaking every day. It's OK if you forget here and there.After the time is up, strain and reserve. Take these same reishi and simmer them in 2 quarts of water for 2 hours. A very low simmer works best and can always add more water if it reduces too quickly. But you want a yield in equal to the alcohol. Let it cool then simply mix the water extract and the alcohol extract. It's super shelf stable from the alcohol and does not need refrigeration.Use at your own risk, but I will say that we do use it daily and it's super effective.This package can easily give 8-10 quarts of elixir.

Taste toxic, reminds me of shoe leather.

Great for making mushroom coffee and although the taste is a little too strong and earthy for my liking the benefits are wonderful. All natural immune booster, helps shrink cysts and fight .

I was confused when I received this item because it had a California warning label on it that it had substances known to cause cancer. It this product safe to use to make tea and other food products? If not that should be clearly stated in the advertising. I tried to search their website for information, warnings or any clarity and could not find any. I don't think I will order again because of the lack of clarity on this. Otherwise the product looked good. Large evenly sliced strips of reishi.
