Excellent product - but not good enough.
I purchased two of these - one for each end of a 1000 foot cat6 cable. I knew I was pushing the limit of the cat6. WiFi is not an option, but it turned out I only needed 890 feet - still a long distance. The video Baluns worked fantastically at first. Then I had one input on one balun go out. It took forever to trouble shoot as it was an intermittent problem. Unfortunately it was after the return date when I was able to isolate & confirm that it was the balun causing the problem. These are some good units, like I said and mine could be a fluke, but be - aware and check the balum first if you have an issue. And no. I didn't replace the bad one with the same item. In hindsight the I decided the cable length, about 4 inches is too short. So I picked up a different type. Wish me luck.

Works well... "same" product supplied in various "incarnations"?
I have a number of these baluns installed (over various lengths of time, up to nine months) and they all seem to work fine so far. They take care of most - if not all - of the video aberrations caused by transitioning between the 75-ohm coax video cables and the 100-ohm Cat5 UTP cables.I purchased these in small groups over time, all from the same Amazon listing. Apparently, each order was fulfilled by a different seller, and each "batch" of product was a little different from the others - although all were the same size and shape, and generally similar in appearance. As far as I can tell, all are functionally the same, and can be mixed and matched without adverse results. These are convenient for "remote cameras, connected via Cat5 UTP cables, each carrying four video signals (*without* any camera power) over a single Cat5 UTP cable. (It *may* be possible to re-purpose one or more of the video balun "channels" to carry camera power over the Cat 5 cable, but in that scenario, it's probably better to use the single-channel video balun/power devices instead - although most of those provide only one video balun channel per Cat5 cable. At least I have not found any that support two cameras over one Cat5 cable, with a video balun channel and a power channel for each of the two cameras. Probably such a scheme would be relatively limited in cable length, due to the power loss on a single pair of the 24-26 AWG wires in Cat5 UTP cables). In any case, these four-channel baluns support *only* the video signals - so the cameras' power has to be supplied separately, either by separate power cable(s) run along with the video cable, or else by power supplies located near the cameras.
