Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters: Inside His Films, Notebooks, and Collections Hardcover – August 30, 2016

My best friend had her eye on this book for a while so I got it a couple of months ago as a Christmas gift. When she received it, she was concerned that I spent too much money on it. Apparently, when she first saw it, it was almost $60 at Barnes and noble. Great pricing for amazon!

Went to the exhibit and saw the book in the store at LACMA, where I started reading and couldn't stop! It's really endearing to see so much love poured into a collection and then into this book, and I really enjoyed reading Guillermo's commentary on his personal motivations and interests in horror, sci-fi, and art. A lovely read and a great price

I missed out on the exhibit when it toured LAMoCA last year and absolutely adored this book! It's more than just a companion piece to the touring exhibit. Beyond the gorgeous artwork and photography, I loved the interviews, insights on GDT's obsessions, and the brief history of monsters.

I was lucky enough to visit the Guillermo Del Toro: At Home with Monsters exhibit at the L.A. County Museum this past summer and this book is like getting to revisit the exhibition over and over again.

What a treat. If you're not lucky enough to live near the LACMA then this is the next best thing to seeing GDT's personal collection of monsters up close. It literally is the companion to the display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It's one of the best books of the year and the price is right.

Loved to read a few pages each night before I go to sleep. A must buy for Del Toro fans and horror fans as well!

Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this. A museum catalog of del Toro's Bleak House. Flat, uninspiring photography. Essays from museum directors on the director's place in modern cinema and collecting. I was hoping for more of Guillermo's drawings and personal reminisces.Will try "Guillermo del Toro Cabinet of Curiosities" next.

The book is amazing! Shows lots of pictures to look at featuring some of my favorite movies like Pan's Labrinth, Crimson Peak and Devils Backbone. Cannot wait to sit down and read it some more.

ITS SO BEAUTIFUL! and detailed and just incredibly insightful start to finish. Del Toro is my #1 director and this book is a must for anyone who wishes to understand his creativity furthers and why his films are so far beyond any other directors (minus Tim Burton) mind set. This book explains his love for everything from the macabre to Frankenstein to 18th century art. I love it!

Thought this would be bigger and it's more of a companion to the Exhibition of Del Toro's collection but for the money it's full of great images of items you would never see as well as the stories behind them

I got this as a gift for someone studying film at university toro is his favourite director. He loves it.

I got this book as a present for my husband and he's really enjoying it
