Goofed when I got this and found a favorite by accident
I got this tea, thinking it was a spiced Chai tea. They have info on the Amazon ad that I was confused by. However I lucked out in that it wasn’t and now has become one of my favorite plain black teas.Earlier this past year, I went through all the common US grocery shelf black teas trying to decide which one I preferred. I grew up with Salada, Lipton and the like and then had settled on Red Rose years ago. Well I went back and double checked trying some other brands and dabbled with Assam and Darjeeling. Finally I came back to the Red Rose brand, as the closest to what I liked over the shelf. I drink black tea every AM and sometimes like to make a large pot. I also didn’t want it to be overly expensive for this reason as well. When I got this tea, I had also received a new tea pot that was great for loose tea. Great timing. This tea has the piquant tea flavor that I was looking for. It is the tea flavor I grew up with. I put evaporated milk in my black tea, no sugar. This one is perfect. So if you like Red Rose tea. This one is even better.

Unique aftertaste
This loose tea isn't the texture you would expect it's almost more like pellets. It is easy to make with hot water the tea diffuses well using a diffuser ball. This tea has great caffeine content will keep you moving throughout the day. Well I do like this tea, it does have a strange aftertaste. I find this tea is the best with a little creamer added.

Hot or Iced, This is Great Tasting Black Tea from India!
I'm a caffeine addict who can't abstain from drinking large quantities of coffee and tea. My favorite tea is loose-leaf black tea. I've reviewed Tata Tea Gold, Loose Leaf Premium Black Tea, and found it delicious. Therefore, I was excited to review the Tata Tea Premium, Desh ka Anokha Swad. This Desh ki Chai tea is more in the form of a pellet than a loose leaf.I use my beloved Saki French Press to make both hot and ice tea. My Saki has a glass beaker that is graduated. The directions on the bag of Desh tea aren't clear. I dump one teaspoon of pellet tea into the glass beaker and add six ounces of boiling water from my goose-neck kettle. The directions state to steep for three to five minutes before straining. I sometimes steep seven to ten minutes, depending on how much flavor I want from my tea. It may be more bitter, but I add stevia, honey, and lemon.I love sweet tea. Also, if I want iced tea, I simply use two teaspoons of tea and only six ounces of boiling water in lieu of twelve ounces. After allowing it to steep, I then pour the liquid into a thermos full of ice. Much of the ice will melt, creating delicious iced tea. Overall, Tata Tea produces great tea. In this case, it has produced some very delicious, aromatic black tea, Desh ki Chai, from India. The Desh ki Chai reminds me of the CTC Orange Pekoe Tea from Chaimati, which is one of my favorite black teas. The Desh ki Chai tea came with a best by date of 19 Feb 24 on the back of the package, above the barcode on the right-hand side. This is a most excellent best by date. This delicious tea will be gone long before then. My only issue is with the packaging. I wish it came inside a plastic container with a screw-on/screw-off lid. This tall, skinny bag is not resealable and is easy to fall over and spill its contents, which happened to me. Thankfully, it was a minor spill, but it could've been worse. The price of this Desh ki Chai tea ($11.43 at the time of this review) is very reasonable. The tea would be more expensive if the packaging was more substantial. The tea arrived unharmed (in the plastic envelope, it felt like a one-pound brick), but I have to use clothespins to keep the bag closed. Be careful not to knock over your bag of tea. Also, this tea is grown in India, but is manufactured for Tetley USA Inc. of Montvale, NJ. Technically, it is made in the USA.Overall, the Tata Tea Premium, Desh ka Anokha Swad is an excellent tea and I highly recommend it to anyone who owns a French press and loves black tea, especially black tea from India. It tastes great hot or iced. With the up-and-down temperatures that we've been experiencing lately in East Tennessee, it is good to have a tea that is versatile.

Strong
This isn't the black tea I'm used to drinking.I found this to be a bit more bitter like others have mentioned.... but I'm no stranger to having to add more water after making to get it to where I want the flavor to be.That's the beauty of tea.. you can really cater it to your own tastes. What i'm not a fan of... it doesn't come in a resealable bag.Overall, it's a good strong black tea.. I just am confused why it's labeled as CHAI on the listing but it's not chai. Black tea is used in CHAI but the flavor on the listing is literally labeled as CHAI

Delicious if brewed properly and with moderation.
If you follow package directions and brew 1 teaspoon of tea per 1 cup of water, the results are going to be bitter, full of tea tannins and acids. Yuck!I am still working on getting the right amount of tea to water for a decent cup of tea. So far, I still have to add a lot of water after brewing. This tea is really strong and full bodied!Once you reach the right ratio of tea to water, the tea is quite lovely.I have tried both the Tata Tea Premium and the Gold. I think the Gold is a tiny bit smoother. Both are great. Enjoy!
