Awesome submersible uv light for nano reef tank. Fits perfectly in the sump chambers and I run it 247 for the last 7 months and still works perfectly. Has a built in timer for 6,8,12 and 24 hours. Definitely helps with water clarity and parasites. Definitely worth the price. I was really impressed at something so cheap being a good product!! Will definitely buy again and refer!

It really works. I was very skeptical about this product working. I finally gave in and purchased this one. Mainly for the price so I wouldn't really care as much if it didn't work as described. I have a shrimp tank with live plants and an algae bloom took over. Worried about treating with chemicals searched for options and UV came up. I ordered this item, put it in the filter and let it run. Within 12 hours there was a drastic change in the clarity of the water. As for longevity of the gear that is to be seen, but for treating the algae bloom A+.

My tank itself is clean as you can see. I had slightly green water so I decided to get this light to help like the one in my pond filter does. After a week and a half it turned my water solid green as you can see. Don’t waste your money like I did. I wanted to give no stars but it would not let me.

I bought this to reduce the green water color in my tank, and it worked. I placed it in my hang on filter so the light won't be directly visible to the fist as it can be harmful in direct contact. I connected it to a smart plug and run it 1hour 3 times a week. I used it for 2 hours daily when I received it but now I have it set automatically to the 1h 3x/week schedule and my water has been clear since with no more algae overgrowth

This is the only thing that cleared my green tank ! I was trying everything but this worked amazing !!! It did take almost a week bc it had shut off the timer and I didnt realize

So far, I am very happy with this product. I have recently been diagnosed with an infection from my fish tanks called, Mycobactirium Marinum. That is the main reason I purchased this UV light. It sits inside the hang on back filter and kills dangerous bacteria in the water which the filter doesn't pick up. The infection is rare, but it's difficult to diagnose and many Drs. aren't aware of it. Aside from that, it has made the aquarium water crystal clear, and my tanks are beautiful. I haven't had this product for very long so I don't know about the longevity of it, but it is affordable, so I don't feel that is an issue. This is a UV light and should not be placed in the tank itself. It can harm the fish (blind them, or even kill them) and it can also harm people if they look at it.

I literally tried everything to get our Beta's fish tank clear. Every time I cleaned the tank, within two days it would get foggy and green. I finally saw this product on Amazon and thought I would give it a try based off the reviews. I am so glad that I did! This little light definitely cleared up our tank. I was a little disappointed that it wouldn't fit inside the filter area, but that's my fault because I thought the UV light was going to be smaller. We have a 3 gallon tank, so the filter area isn't huge. The first day, I just removed the filter cartridge itself so that I could fit the light inside. I left the light in there for a full day. Then I removed it, replaced the filter cartridge inside and then I just sat the light on top of the filter area to where it was still shining onto the water. I left it like that for another day, and with cleaning the filter cartridge a couple times, the tank is now crystal clear. I did get a little nervous with leaving it in so long because the UV light was giving off some kind of weird smell (not a burning smell), so I just encourage people to keep an eye on that. Other than that, I would highly recommend. I will now only use it when algae starts blooming again and I can see a change in the color of the water. Our Beta fish seems happier also.

This honestly transformed the hobby for me, BUT: some of you cannot be trusted with this. Before you plug this in, you MUST encase it in something UVC-proof, or you will destroy eyeballs (and also plastics). What I do is lower the bulb into a small ceramic vase, then lower an airstone into the vase on top of the bulb, then fill the rest of the vase with gravel (so no fish can ever see the bulb). Then put the vase in the aquarium. Only then, do I plug in the UVC bulb. The airstone circulates water around the UVC bulb inside the vase. Just leave it on 24/7, because the bulb actually lasts longer if you don't turn it on/off repeatedly. Within a couple days, my aquariums always look crystal-clear. (EDIT: note it can take up to 2 weeks depending on other filtration, and also what the specific organism is clouding the water.) For the very low price, this product is exceptional. It feels like I've discovered a great secret. But only if you're smart enough to put the bulb in something UVC-proof, you should NEVER see the light. Again I recommend ceramic, and then bury it in gravel just to be sure. Do that, and then it's perfectly safe and does fantastic things for your water quality.

I made a few changes in my tank at the same time — this light and polyfill. After my last water change, I added this light and ran for 6 hours in the rear compartment, and added polyfill to the intakes on my Fluval Flex 123. Water is crystal clear. The only thing I would warn is the light does not have a cover and must be placed somewhere that the fish will not be exposed directly.

I had an algae problem that I thought would never resolve but thanks to this tiny UV light, my aquarium water is no longer green! I plugged in the light on Saturday and by today, Tuesday I can see a huge improvement. Thank you-thank you-thank you, is all I can say! I highly recommend this product. Also, set up was fairly easy.
