First application successful
I have 3 tropical hibiscus plants that are inside a screened porch. They have become infested with thrips. I have tried Neem oil various times and while it did reduce the number of thrips they always come back. A day ago I sprayed them with Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew. Today I looked at them and say that the majority of the thrips are gone. In no way did I expect the infestation to be completely gone with only one application but the reduction of bugs with this spray versus Neem oil is notable. I have ordered a bottle of concentrated Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew and will apply more next week. Hopefully, the next application will get rid of them all. I will update my review later with the results. But as of now, I give it 5 stars.UPDATE - All the thrips are gone!!

Killed the spider things! And it was really easy.
I love houseplants. I'm pretty good at getting them to survive without a lot of work.I usually let my plants slowly die if they have some spider thing growing on it. That always felt awful but, I did not trust myself to figure out the pesticide to use.. is it safe. I just avoided the whole thing. But, I bought a ficus lyrata and really didn't want to watch it die. So, I tried this stuff. It has completely eradicated the tiny spiders that were setting up shop at the base of each leaf. I sprayed the whole plant (not a big one but did take some time). I used my fingers to break up the webs and sprayed the stuff at the base of each leaf. It took 1 thorough spray a week for 3 weeks.Highly recommended

It's a miracle, but be careful of bees
It really does keep the bugs off. I apply every couple weeks, more if I notice any holes or after a lot of rain. But 90% of my vegetable plants are not eaten even a little. However make sure you shoo away any bees first. This will kill them if you spray it on them. But it is harmless once it is dried onto the leaves (per a legitimate scientific study). So shoo then spray.

Great Overall
From shopping, to delivery, to the use of product, this represents another solid Amazon purchase. The product works solidly and is properly described. My preference is to use pure organic; yet this product is very effective with a tiny amount of Spinosad. Spinosad is considered a natural substance from a soil bacterium. Is it considered to be non toxic to humans; breaks down quickly in the environment and soil, but slowly in water, and very effective against many problem insects .Consider: Spinosad shown toxic to bees until dried, but not a problem when product is dry, It breaks down quickly in environment overall, yet slow in water and known to be toxic to eastern oysters; spiinosad showed adverse affect on earthworms described in a 2014 University of Oregon study* from what I interpreted of the study literature. As a longtime dog and cat caretaker, I've been especially tuned to watch for products used daily in my home and yard ever since my awesome Tabby cat had a severe reaction to a nationally known brand of flea medicine in early 2007. I encourage all to consider and weigh both the costs and benefits of products and the effects on our and their environment.*Bunch, T. R.; Bond, C.; Buhl, K.; Stone, D. 2014. Absolute plant life saver
I have a ton of plants. Indoor and out. It’s mental. Somehow these godawful mealy bugs keep setting up camp in the succulents I keep, and spreading out into their neighbors.I’ve gone after them with all sorts of plans. Rubbing alcohol + toothpicks and terrible smelling Neem oil treatments were my go to. When I released a few ladybugs in my main plant window only to then take up arms against my cats hunting the ladybugs, my husband said I was a lunatic and I began to look inward. This stuff has been an absolute life saver. Not of those nasty little squatters though. They’re donezo! I use it everywhere and it’s saved so much of my time and sanity.
