I used a high bonding primer x2 coats, rustoleum stone spray paint in pebble and the glossy topcoat. Second pic is up close so you can see the sheen. I would definitely use this again. It’s amazing. Watch YouTube for the ratio A/B/h2O. I’m planning on doing another countertop because it looks so good.

I bought matte and did a sample board. I did not care for the matte on the light countertop so I ordered high gloss. High gloss was my preferred shine I felt it showed more depth and detail. Came out nice. In the photo is 3 photos of my 1 sample board with high gloss on the top, 2" of original epoxy (sorry sanded for top coat) and on the bottom of the board is the matte.

I have only done a test sample so far with half of the original coating and half of the UTC, but I thought the photos would help buyers understand what the product is and isn't. It is a great performing product if you want added scratch resistance and durability. And the gloss version (applied in the photos) is still very glossy in that it reflects light. BUT... It is not a *smooth* reflective glossy finish like most poured bar top epoxy, especially those in the photos associated with it on the Amazon product page. It has a slight "texture" to it which obscures how smooth the epoxy looks, but this is part of what helps hide scratches well if thats what you are looking for. Note: I applied this using RK3's directions, not Stonecoat's. Look them up on YouTube to get a better understanding.

I had a frustrating experience with this Top Coat epoxy, mainly due to unclear instructions and inconsistent results. First, the instructions are not fully clear. They mention calculating the area to be coated but don’t clearly specify the volume or coverage units being referenced, which made it confusing to determine how much product to use (see attached photo). Second, the instructions suggest adding water, but in my case this step was not necessary and actually caused problems. My first batch was a complete failure because I followed that guidance. As a result, I had to sand down my countertop, apply a new clear float coat of regular epoxy, and then attempt the top coat again—adding significant time and effort to the project. Third, they recommend using a microfiber roller with a 1/4-inch nap, which is extremely difficult to find. It wasn’t even available through their own store. I eventually tracked one down and paid extra for it, but it made no noticeable difference in the final result—essentially a waste of time and money. Finally, even after carefully following the instructions, I was unable to apply the top coat without leaving visible roller marks, which ultimately ruined the finish of my project. In the end, I had to sand the countertop again and decided to leave it without the top coat altogether.

I just applied UTC gloss finish and I am super pleased with the results. I was a bit leery about doing this after reading the negative reviews but after watching videos and researching how to apply it turned out perfect. There is a texture to it (says so on the product) but I feel the texture is determined by the nap of the roller. Be sure to use the microfiber 1/4” nap and have LOTS of them! I did notice that when doing the dry roll, if my roller got too wet, it would smear. So be sure to change them out often. Having only a 15min work time was a little stressful but doable. My coverage area was 80sqft so I sectioned it off into 3 pours. I will say, the product is more forgiving than I expected (had a few oopsies with dog hair getting in the product). I was able to fix it while wet, roll again and dry roll. My take away from the whole Stonecoat countertop experience is to just trust the process.

We are so happy with how our countertops turned out they were black and now they look similar to marble. I feel like after doing one project I could certainly do a second and actually have better results, but the product itself was fantastic. It has not yellowed and they were done four months ago so hopefully they’ll last many years. It was thicker than I thought it would be when I mixed the two parts together, so I did not have a whole lot of dripping Like the you tube videos showed. We are more than pleased with the results and quality of this product.
