. Review: Absolutely stunning - Pink Floyd has always been in a class by themselves and for me they are the single most inventive and talented group of musicians in the history of "rock", if you even want to classify them in that category. Every single group in the genre completely pales in comparison to them. Most people who love them as much as I do simply put them in their own category and they are adoringly called "the Floyd." There is no other group like this even remotely. The silly and trivial little ditties of the Beatles, for example, sound like child's nursery rhymes in comparison to this towering group of geniuses. Whenever I sit down to listen to one of their albums it is with a reverence and they always have my undivided attention. I was most fortunate to be able to see them live twice and those shows are still, after almost 50 years of seeing many, many musical events, the very, very best concerts that I ever saw. This particular album just totally blows the roof off the place. To follow along with the written lyrics as the music unfolds is truly a marvelous experience. This is just simply a work of complete genius. There are so many fabulous moments here but the one that just jolts me the most is "On The Turning Away" a haunting masterpiece that is relevant to what is happening right now as the world slowly crumbles apart with disease and racial hatred. It's chilling and riveting. I don't think the genius of this group was ever thoroughly appreciated by enough people but anyone who truly loves great music knows that Pink Floyd is unparalleled. I can't recommend this CD highly enough and hope that it finds a new audience among the young folks of today. Simply timeless, simply brilliant, simply wonderful! Review: Quality pressing! - Quality, great sounding pressing. Highly recommended product.

A GREAT Vinyl Pressing
All I can say is WOW. As a relatively new Pink Floyd fan, this album's quality is impressive and a true justice serviced to what I can gather from the original recording. Much has been said about the music and the vinyl pressing in particular. I will echo those positives noting a few more details below. . Soundstage- I have a rather revealing system and had to get up more than once to "check on sounds" that I thought I heard in other rooms of the house. Either my house is haunted or this is a really good recording/mastering effort! . Stereo- On this album, my speakers simply disappear into the vast expanse of music. This cannot be said for all albums. You come back to reality when you have to flip the record; then it's a race back to your chair for another experience. Weather you think of this as Pink Floyd or David's solo album is not the purpose of this review. Are you getting your money out of the vinyl copy? Most definitely yes! . Packaging- Unfortunately had a small crease and a crush in one corner but the artwork is amazing, the quality of the jacket and gatefold cover. It really is one of the nicest records I own. The records were not excessively warped nor did they have any sharp edges or flash still attached.

A worthy Pink Floyd album
David Gilmour was the only Floyd member playing on much of this, but he got the sound just right and his lyrics were on target as well. Not the greatest of Floyd albums but still a worthy one.

Worth a shot for fans of The Division Bell!
This album sort of has the opposite problem of Final Cut in a funny way - it's just a Gilmour solo album. The album suffers from the lack of Waters after he left. Many parts of the album feels underdone, like the Dogs of War. It's so close to being good, but I think it could have dropped the middle verse and chorus. The build takes too long and is to repetitive before the climax before the third verse. The lack of a concept on this album also make the Round and Around & New Machine interludes feel pointless because aren't connected anyway. The good songs on this album are really good though! All the guitar work is masterfully done and I'm glad this album exists for that purpose.

Great album. Hate packaging.
Great album, but I hate the cheap cardboard sleeve packaging. I’ll have to transfer it to a plastic case because pulling it in and out of a sleeve will scratch it.

Great vinyl pressing of an underrated late Pink Floyd album.
As with all of the PF reissues on vinyl, this one sounds great! Quiet pressing. I like the way it sounds better than my original CD and any streaming version. Vinyl is the best way to experience the Pink Floyd catalog. You get to experience the great cover designs of Hipgnosis as they were intended. You can't get that listening to an MP3 or CD. I first heard this when it came out in 1987. I was just discovering PF for the first time and planning to see them live later that year. While it may not be liked by many true Floyd fans, it holds a special place in my musical upbringing and I still enjoy it for what it is. A Momentary Lapse of Reason
