Expensive but healthy stuff
The main ingredients of this product are based on research and usage of ancient Indian culture and have been used by Indian for centuries. Since they are herbal and Aurvedic, carry a proven track record, I would say they will not do bad if not good for your hairs. However, here are couple of observations:1. These are not really 100% herbal and natural products. They do have added chemicals which might influence the characteristics of the raw products. These added ingredients are probably to help them last longer in shelf But this is worth noting.2. In Instructions, there is no mention how much to use for one application. For regular shampoo, we are pretty sure how much is good enough because we are using them for ages but for such products any new user will be confused what should be the appox usage. Their Instructions should make it clear.3. We did see a different in the heirs after the application. But again, Instructions mentioned to wash using conditioner after its usage. So the results were not only the result of this product but also after the use of conditioner which should be used as per instructions. This does not make sense and does not really give me. a great experience and feeling about the authenticity and actual results of the product.4. The products are quiet pricey. I wish they could be made more affordable. Best in class and professional grade products will be more economic or in this price range but definitely with many more applications compare to how many applications you get from this product. It is not value for money product. In the long run, if consistently use this product, you may get an idea about how much to use per application And if the product content to be believed, they will be good for heirs. But we can only know about that after many more applications when we see some visible differences. Worth to try for once at least.

Salty
This was a great exfoliator. It uses salt to scrub your scalp. It has a very strong scent. My scalp was very clean, but it dried out my hair.

Follow instructions
I followed the instructions for the AyurVita Haircare - Maka Extract Scalp Scrub & Cleanser - Bio-Certified Hair Treatment, and you need to realize that although it calls itself a cleanser, it doesn't feel like one at all. The directions for this scalp scrub AND CLEANSER call for rubbing the product all over your scalp and hair, and leaving it for two minutes; then rinsing and following up with a conditioner.I did this, but let me tell you that this was a strange experience, since this scrub felt like I was rubbing salt and oil all over my head and hair and leaving it for two minutes. It smelled herbal and fragrant, and I didn't mind leaving it, but in NO WAY did I feel like I was cleaning my hair in a way that I was used to. It felt more like exfoliating and scrubbing my scalp and hair with salt and...rubbing oil on my head. There is absolutely no way you can use this as cleanser, rinse your hair, and feel like you've cleaned your hair and you are done. You WILL need a conditioner. I almost used a shampoo afterward, but decided to follow the instructions.I was pleased that after I used conditioner, my head and hair felt great. My hair was soft and voluminous. I do recommend this, but be warned that you absolutely will need a good conditioner following its use.

It's a texture thing...
First I want to say that that this product did have a cool feature with a tray and small wooden scoop spoon that fit inside the bottle even with the cap on. A little weird for a scrub that needs to be applied to a relatively large area (scalp), but neat because I have never seen it before. That being said, this product is not for me I guess. It was mostly a texture thing, but overall I wasn't impressed by the product as a whole. The scrub comes in a wide mouth low profile jar with a very small spoon to apply it with. It was really awkward to get it to my scalp in the shower with a tiny wooden spoon. I had to set it on the counter next to the shower door and reach out several times to try and scoop enough of it to use. I would have added a full star for a pump or some better way to dispense this product. The scrub did not suds up at all for me which made it really difficult to spread evenly under my hair and apply to my whole scalp. I am sure that it is supposed to be gritty for the scrubbing action, but it felt like the grit bunched up in one area because there were no suds to help move it around. It did rinse out completely leaving no grit or oily feeling on my scalp. There was a pleasant slight tingling cool feeling on my scalp after rinsing which surprised me because I did not see any ingredients on the label that would have done that. I did not appreciate the smell very much. It had a bit of a nostalgic scent because it reminded me of the incense burned in most of the record stores I went to as a kid, but it is not a fragrance I would choose to apply when going out of the house. I know some of my disappointment is based on the inconvenient application method, but in general the scrub just did not really do anything noticeable for me.

Very unusual product for me
My wife and I both tried the AyurVita Haircare. My wife noted that it thoroughly cleaned her hair without any use of additional shampoo. In my experience, without any lather in this mixture, I decided to use a small amount of shampoo after this treatment. The jar contains a very gritty dark brown mixture. It is applied to the hair and scalp and rubbed in as any shampoo. I thought that the gritty/sandy texture would be like a soap containing pumas, it is not. I dropped a bit onto the shower floor accidentally and after a time it seemed to dissolve. When I tried this in the palm of my hand it also seemed to dissolve after a time and wash away.Honestly, I'm not sure what to think about this concoction, it did clean our hair. The name is an interesting take off of the AyurVeda, the Indian medicine.
