Great ceramic knives. These are my second set from Kyocera.
Light weight and sharp. Good for arthritic hands. Black glass is matte and looks great. Be mindful that it is ceramic and have a separate knife block to keep them apart from other utensils. My first Kyocera set stayed sharp for ten years. We are only replacing them because a newbie was unaware, and put heavy pans on top and broke the blades.

Perfect if treated with reasonable care
This is my second set of these knives. The first set lasted a decade and simply wore out. These knives are superb. They are scary sharp. They are durable and very hard. They are ceramic and are brittle if abused, If you are incapable of treating the edge with care, as the negative reviews clearly show for some, they will chip. You cannot just toss them in the sink. You cannot twist the blade or chop. Common care is what is needed. They require abuse to chip. A similar ceramic product is Corning Corelle Ware. If you cannot treat them care, then pass on these. To be honest, if you chip these knives you are also abusing your steel knives.

I wish I purchased the set with the blade covers
These are perfect when new, I just wish they came with blade covers and were cheaper. I bought another brand of black ceramic knives several years ago (with blade covers for storage) and they were great when new, but over time the handles started to peel and they would not sharpen well even with the brand sharpener specifically for that knife, so decided to buy another set. Will have to wait and see if these have better longevity or will sharpen when needed (it seems like ceramic knives stay sharp for almost a year). These are great for boneless meat, fruit, herbs, nuts and vegetables. I would recommend a metal knife if you are carving a chicken with bones, but these are great on the meat itself.

Extremely dangerous
I bought this set because of size versatility though I really only use the smaller knives. I love how cute, lightweight and sharp the knives are and the ease with which they slice thru salad veggies. This was my first time using the largest knife and now I'm reconsidering the whole set. The first time using that knife could've ended very tragically if it was used by other members in my family. I cut into a freshly baked loaf of bread and immediately noticed the missing pieces on my brand new knife. The tiny white shards embedded themselves into my white bread, which neither my half blind mother, nor my usually oblivious husband would've noticed. The thought of anyone in my family, especially the baby swallowing those blade shards is enough for me to discard the whole set. It's very expensive but the risk is real.

Very Very sharp
Nice knives, just be careful because ceramic blades are very brittle and they will break if you are not careful with how you handle them.

Great knives, you'll love 'em.
I already have good steel knives, but I recently picked up on credible reviews and Internet chatter that raved about Japanese cutlery. Thought I would give them a try and bought a set of four. Being ceramic, I've heard that they are fragile. I bought the round container to keep them away from my other knives. I handle them gingerly. That being said, these are simply wonderful knives. I first used them to make a beef stew. I've never had such an easy time cutting up a chuck roast. Slicing veggies was actually enjoyable. I've always had to sharpen my other knives before mincing garlic cloves. Mincing is a breeze when you can first slice a clove into paper thin slices, a few light chops and you're done. Best knives I've ever had. Highly recommended.

Muy filosos y dura más afilado que los otros que tengo, el único pero es que los cuido como si fueran de vidrio pues no puedo mezclarlos con los otros cubiertos de la mesa.

I bought ceramic knives in the past at a Home show and loved them. I didn't have much expectations, however these knives are way better than the ones I previously bought. Great product, sharp knives, I love them. My only suggestion is that it could have come with a knife drying holder. Highly recommend.

Knives were excellent and are extremely sharp. Unfortunately the shipping quality was extremely poor and disappointing from Amazon.

Light precision ceramic knives that make your prep work easy. I like the dark blades and the choice of sizes in this set. Long time user of Kyocera knives so I can highly recommend them.
