Park Tool SK-1 Home Mechanic Starter Tool Kit

Quite honestly, though, I had other tools in my shed/garage that I could use to replace this set. All I really needed was that special tool to undo the crank (the square head puller tool), which wasn't part of this kit, but I had to purchase seperately. That cost about $15-20, which would have been a much lower cost of entry into the Park Tool world. However, I now know more about bike repair than I did a month ago, so this wasn't a horrible purchase. I'm sure it'll pay for itself over time.

Purchased this with the intention of using as a base kit that could be added to, but the tools are small and poor quality and the box is not large enough to house other regular sized tools. Decided to not keep, and purchased individual Park tools and a metal tool box instead.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband last year since he got back into cycling. Well, he LOVES this kit! It has pretty much everything you need to do simple repairs. It is such a relief to see him head to the blue tool box instead of rummaging through the garage or, in some cases, my kitchen for a tool substitute. Park Tool has been around a long time and has a great reputation for quality tools. I don't see how you can miss with this starter kit. Also, the price I got on Amazon was much better than at the local big chain sports store.

I wanted a tool kit to work on my bike, but didn't want to buy low quality tools. I bought this set because they are reported to be better tools than some competitors. I'm happy with the set except for the price. This has to be a high margin product for Park. It shouldn't cost $99.

So I just got into cycling about 2 years ago. I want to start doing my own maintenance to my bikes so I bought this set to begin with. I don't have anything to compare it to but so far I was able to swap handlebars, change tires, pedals and do some basic maintenance. I haven't used all the tools yet but I look forward to figuring them out. Great set for a beginner like me.

The tools and toolbox are fully functional, but at that price I had expected better quality. So they will do the trick but I will look for another brand next time

Awesome beginner's set. I am diving into maintaining all of my family's bikes with not much mechanical experience at all. But with Zinn's book and Google, I have been able to do and fix everything that's come my way so far using just this set. Would recommend for anyone that is looking into learning the beginning maintenance and mechanics of bikes!

Vorab das Produkt ist im Vergleich zu manch anderen (billigeren) Werkzeugset qualitativ hochwertiger. Aber es hat seinen Preis. Für den Preis von 80 Euro bekommt man verdammt wenig Werkzeug. So mussten Kurbelabzieher und Lagerabzieher extra gekauft werden. Diese Komponenten sind jedoch zwingend erforderlich, wenn man bei einem Farad etwas macht. Die Ausstattung ist daher für den Preis ein wenig dürftig. Als weiterer Makel ist die Kettenpeitsche zu nennen, die mit dem 15er Maulschlüssel zum Öffnen der Pedale verschmolzen wurde. Mit dem Hammer sollte man nicht draufschlagen. Gleiches gilt für das Immbusschlüsselset. Dieses ist zwar vollständig, aber dank dem Plastikgehäuses für das draufschlagen mit dem Hammer (kann manchmal aber notwendig sein) denkbar ungeeignet. Wer aber bereits konventionelles Werkzeug hat (Maulschlüssel, Immbusschüssel, Schraubenschlüssel) findet im Starter Set von Park Tool die optimale Ergänzung um dann auch das Fahrrad reparieren zu können.

Ist sicherlich kein Schnäppchen aber hält dafür auch länger als eine Hobbyschraubergeneration. Im Koffer ist noch eine Einlegeschale mit Griff in der die Kleinteile gut abgelegt werden können. Lediglich der Imbusschlüsselsatz ist mit seinen Plastikschalen eher minderwertiger. Auf die beiden Schraubendreher (gute Qualität) hätte ich verzichten können (wer sowas noch nicht zu Hause hat braucht auch diesen Koffer nicht ;-) ), und stattdessen hätt ich mir einen Kurbelabzieher gewünscht das wäre stimmiger da ein Kurbelschraubenimbus und ein Pedalschlüssel dabei ist.Trotzdem klare Empfehlung.
