Wow! The texture of this tastes like real cake. Was so surprised that it was fluffy like cake! Mine came out more like a dry devil dog consistency and hint of sweetness; but, as I was eating the cake (right out of the oven) I realized I never added the maple syrup. It was still sitting in the measuring cup. I was a bit upset with myself, seeing that this little 8x8 cake mix costs $14! Still, the cake was surprisingly edible with enough hint of chocolate to satisfy my craving. That said, I imagine it will be 10 times better the next time when I remember to add the maple syrup. I think I was just so excited to have cake, that I forgot to add the syrup. Update (with maple syrup)! So I purchased this cake mix again and this time remembered to put in the syrup. OMG!! Divine!! This is delicious. This time I made cupcakes and so glad I did. To me they have the flavor of a devil dog, but moist like a cupcake should be. I could only imagine this would taste even more scrumptious with a dollop of whipped coconut cream. These would be perfect for a birthday or childrens school event. Without having to worry about allergens. Their website has a bunch of delicious dessert recipes that I want to try. Unfortunately, I am having a reaction to baking soda (possibly the tapioca starch and vanilla too). In all fairness I had three cupcakes in one day. That might have been overkill. I woke up with a lot of joint pain. I shall have to try and pace myself. I ended up vacuuming sealing and freezing the rest of the cupcakes for later. AIP is really hard. But the benefits are incredible. In a few months I lost 25 lbs and all my aches and pains went away. I cheated around the holidays and have been struggling to go full AIP (despite the return of aches and pains). I am hopeful products like this (in moderation) will help make it possible to stick with AIP in the future. Warning for those on AIP: this contains Baking Soda which im told is not compliant for phase one of AIP. It’s important to really stick to the plan to feel the benefits. At the same time, I think going for this versus giving up altogether is a lesser evil. I will say that I notice more inflammation when I have baking soda. Still, I have to applaud EAt Gangster for this amazing, thoughtful, delicious product.

I’m so pleasantly impressed. I’m now eating a slice of this cake- my first piece of cake (or anything sweet for that matter) in four years. I became intolerant to a multitude of foods four years anfter a certain something, and have eaten the same plain basic foods each day to avoid flared. This nearly brought me to happy tears. The flavor is a little sharp at first due to the cloves, but not off putting in any way. The texture is fluffy and a tad grainy, but nothing to complain about as it’s moist and delicious. I had the ingredients it required on hand so I whipped up the cake quickly. I hope to order more soon. This was convenient and tasty.

These muffins taste and feel like the real deal. They’re soft and super delicious and will make your entire house smell amazing. If you can handle maple sugar, I recommend topping these off with a little maple cream or frosting made from powdered maple sugar. Soooooo yummy, and so far my favorite AIP mix. I think I’ll even use this for a birthday cake next year.

Have been gluten free for years, but needed to eliminate all grains and legumes (like lentil or chickpea flour) too. This mix has the right ingredients for me. I made them dairy-free with mashed bananas and DF chocolate chips, also added vanilla and spices. The flavor is great and they lasted several days. Note that it is a dense muffin because this type of flour will not give you a light fluffy muffin (no matter which company you buy a mix from!). Having the mix is great for travel when buying all the individual ingredients would have been hard. Would recommend.

I’ve been battling scalp and skin issues so as part of the process to figure out the root cause I went on an AIP diet. This is challenging because I love me some chocolate and sweets. I tried the brownies of this and they were ok. But this cake mix… WOW!! Delish! Tad bit gritty (like little poppy seeds) due to the flour but it’s so fluffy and moist! I added some homemade carob ‘chocolate’ chips and it’s extra gooey seeming. I’m in heaven. Decadent without being sweet. I will be buying it again and will share with a friend who can’t have chocolate due to her IBS. God bless the EAT GANGSTER team for this creation.

I only tried this in mug cake form and thought it was gross. It turned me off from making regular cupcakes with it. I had my four roommates try it as well and they all agreed it was nasty. I love this brand’s cookie mix, so I would go with one of those over the cupcake mix!

This stuff is a lifesaver! It tastes good. You can add carrots or apples to fancy it up. Makes cakes or cupcakes well. I used applesauce instead of oil with success (not as light and fluffy). 10/10 would recommend.

I prepared this product according to the instructions and I couldn't take more than a few bites. The texture and taste were pretty bad, I tried adding a few things I had and I just couldn't stomach it & tossed it! Hopefully they can find a better formulation that still meets the health criteria.
