Seat does not tightly screw down
Overall build of the seat is decent. The biggest complaint is the screw to tighten the seat down, it does not stay in place. Anytime I want to move the seat the top just pops off. I have tried tightening it but it just does not latch.

Met my expectations
I bought this for my 3 year old and it's perfect. I have it set at the lowest setting and she can just sit right down behind the junior kit we bought for her and feel comfortable now. This will also be able to be adjusted so it rise up as she grows too. So far, I'm happy with this throne.

Perfect for kids
Our cello teacher suggested we buy a stool so that my kids would be at the right height for their cellos. Adult chairs were positioning them too high. This stool works perfectly for that purpose. It was inexpensive yet the quality seems good. Its comfortable, stable and easy to adjust. You can't switch easily between heights, like in a office chair, but that was a reasonable trade off given the price. It has height settings that would work well for kids from elementary thru middle school at least.

not super sturdy but works ok
I got it for my 9 years old boy's cello practice.He is small so we needed the right height seating for him and this works great.When we got the package, he assembled it so it was pretty easy but it is not super sturdy..wobble a little bit but when you once seat, it is okay. I found the similar throne at the local music store and it was about $50 so I'm happy with what I paid for.

Good stool - just one complaint
I picked up this stool so the kids would have a comfortable throne for our new drum set. The height of the stool is perfect for my 6 year olds. My one complaint is that adjusting the stool is not an automatic adjustment. To make it taller or shorter you need to remove a wing nut and manually raise it, then replace the nut and bolt.Another issue, although not so much a complaint is... once the stool is tightened down, the stool does not swivel. Which might be a good thing for kids that like to swivel but I find it somewhat restrictive.

serious piece of equipment
although its intended for kids. the build quality is very good, a tad better than the throne came with my tama drum set. it goes very low to fit a 5 year old kid. study and well padded.
