Now I see that my review have been helpful to a lot of you guys and that makes me so happy because I look for reviews to help me figure out if I want a product too. So I just wanna be a little more helpful by letting you all know my hair type and regiment with the sulfur 8 and Doo Gro. My hair type is 4C, low porosity, relaxed hair but I stretched out my relaxers to 4-5 months when I first used this product my hair was a little passed my ears. Now my hair regiment with these 2 products. Now I believe they both have petroleum in them, I never had an issue with petroleum if you use it lightly. Take both products mix them together add a little wild growth oil, tea tree oil and peppermint oil (these oils are optional) or whatever oils you like mix well then I section my hair in big parts and VERY LIGHTLY grease my scalp because I don’t want no greasy hair plus my hair is low porosity so it doesn’t absorb products that well/I give myself a nice 3 minute scalp massage because after that I’m not interested 😂 use a lighter moisturizer for my ends I don’t use this mixture on my ends it would weigh down my hair. Then I either give myself a couple big cornrows or just some big box braids put my bonnet on and that’s it! The next morning I have this amazing braid out 💕 I only grease my scalp 2 times a week with this mixture because it moisturizes my scalp and hair so well I love it!!! I wouldn’t recommend daily use this stuff is too heavy for all of that unless it works FOR YOU then hey do your thing. I do recommend doing a deep cleansing shampoo or washing it twice with a regular shampoo to get all that built up product off your scalp and hair. I'm an old man, with old man hair. it matches my old man beard. Think Moses, in a pair of adidas. I'm pleasantly surprised with this. I only use a little, typically in damp hair, and it is so easy to apply. I do not pull any hair out in the process (each one is precious), and when it dries, I am able to run my hands through without issue. It's not oily or greasy unless I use too much. Light sulfur smell unless I take a blow dryer to it, then I'm looking over my shoulder for the devil himself. STRONG SULFUR. BTW: name of my next band = Strong Sulfur. As far as the vitalizing element is concerned, I think it helps my hair grow more quickly, but not more fully. I expect to be bald on top soon, with long hair on sides/back. Think Kelsey Grammer (Frasier), in a pair of adidas. For now, my hair is soft and awesome. I look like a short, Greek Barry Gibb. In adidas. Peace.

I used this in a mix with another product for hair growth. I really like how it made my natural hair look. I have not used it by itself; therefore, I can't say if it makes your hair grow. However, I did have hair growth with the mixture that included this product. It's very light.

I was told about this product in the barber shop in Atlanta, last year when I visited friends. I told the barber who was cutting my friends hair off. I said I am trying to grow hair, he recommended doo gro. I went to the beauty supply store, Sally's and got the Mega Long hair vitalizer. It works, I have been using for a year in my hair. Sally's here in Albuquerque, NM stopped carrying it. That is why I had to order from Amazon. Now that you have all the doo gro products, at a reasonable price, I will be ordering here from now on. I have been telling family and friends about it. Oh by the way, I am African American. I don't think other races can use it....hmmmm Thanks amazon for being there for me....smile

In case someone is confused this is like a new twist on old school hair grease that your mama used to style your hair with. However it’s light weight and doesn’t leave hair or your hands feeling oily. Doesn’t have much of a smell, typical grease smell to me; just very low odor I use this after my leave in conditioner (water based) to lock in the goodness because I live in dry climate and my hair stayed moisturised all day long. Worth the money spent in my opinion.

So I mix this with two other Doo Gro oil treatments (for length and anti-itch), castor oil and sulfur 8, and it does amazing things for my hair and scalp! Plus, it doesn’t come off greasy on my hair. Definitely less breakage, and a substantially less hair falling off when I comb and shampoo my hair. It could also be a combination of the shampoo and conditioner I use, but either way, it’s all working out for me !

Okay, I was recommended to mix this hair product with the medicated sulfer yellow jar for hair growth and thickness....Although yes it does work it is way too greasy for me. I have mixed type of hair so i gave it a try after real people reviews but OmG I just cannot take the greasyness. I’m not completely against greasy hair products but this is beyond greasy! However, after all of my complaining here... I do know that it definitely does help with thickness and hair growth as long as you can take the greasy lol. I wonder if they make a cream version of this same product? I would definitely try it because i do know it helps with our hair problems. Well, I have not totally given up on this. I’m still keeping and using it. Maybe not as much. I’m just so used to cream that I probably put too much on lol. It’s okay. I will not give it a thumbs down. It works. Just really greasy sadly. It’s probably best for greasing your scalp after braiding probably. I don’t know.
