Philips Hairclipper Series 7000, HC7650/14

The prior Philips models which I purchased had been discontinued. The prior models lasted about 5 years each with the batteries eventually not able to hold a charge and the unit would not run at normal speed when running off the cord. The combs were also delicate and had to be replaced at least once per unit. Also the mechanism which connected the motor to the trimmer blades always vibrated loose causing the need for disassembly, reattachment and reassembly. This new unit appears to utilize the same design between the motor and blades but it appears to be improved. I have used the unit for the first time just yesterday and was very satisfied with the functionality. It was a little difficult to determine which clipper comb was which, but after a few minutes online (vs using enclosed instructions) I was able to make the proper determination. Based upon only a single use, and hoping the functionality remains constant, I would recommend this model.Update after third use: Love it. It has now paid for itself based on current barbershop costs. The comb is slightly shorter than my old unit which makes navigating around ears much easier, but caution the comb points are sharper and it is easy to gouge your skin. I am certain that over time, changing how I hold unit and cut hair, this issue is remedied.

I got this product to do my own haircuts. During Covid I tried doing it using a regular beard trimmer, but it would take me a lot of time to get it done, as I had to go multiple passes on a single patch of head of get the job done, despite which the regular beard trimmers would often miss some hair, here and there. This is my first trimmer of this kind that claimed to do the haircut job with ease. My buying points were, no oil maintenance required, auto sharpening, good warranty (I'm an existing Phillips brand user, and their products outlast any other product I know), and the apt number of combs (Other brands give you tons of combs which are pretty inconvenient to keep changing again and again). It also came with a pair of scissors and a comb, which I guess are part of the 7000 series trimmer. I'd suggest spend a little extra and get the 7000 series product. I haven't tried the 5000 series one, but the 7000 one definitely steals the show. It shears so smoothly and doesn't miss a single hair on each pass. You'd never feel the need for a second pass, trust me. Plus, just 1 comb with multiple toggle settings should do you a good undercut, side fade, etc. without changing the trimmer combs. I did my own haircut in just 10 minutes, including the cleaning time. Thanks for building this product!!

The quality of the combs for trimming hair was low and it seems that they break very quickly

My hair takes notice when it hears the low sound of the clipper. No snags, Cuts better than fiskers.The only other sound i hear is when the hair hits the floor. White/Silver hair is harder to cut but,this product stands above all of the other ones that are on the market. Amazon, you are always out doing the other sellers on line and even in the stores.
