I absolutely love this reel. It's the best investment that I made in fishing equipment! It's beautiful, well crafted and smooth. You can feel the sturdiness and quality of the reel soon as you handle it! It's like the AK 47 of fishing reels! In other words, it's reliable in battle. Excellent fishing reel! Tested it on a few striped bass, takes almost zero effort to reel in, compared to other fishing reels. Super smooth, excellent drag, waterproof, and full metal. Not to mention, super super light weight. Anyone who’s not quite sure of buying one, just get it! You won’t regret it!

Top of the line reel that will last a life time. Great for inshore, Specks, Redfish, Flounder, Blue Fish, etc. Powerful Drag and looks bitchen.

I've wanted a Van Staal for years and years, and now that I could afford one, I was not let down. The reel is amazing—the smooth drag stands out. Line spools on beautifully and casts like a dream. I've dropped it in the sand a few times, no grinding or sticking. It's built to take a beating and still function perfectly. Worth the money. Hope to catch many more fish with it.

What can I say? It’s a very sexy spinning. Reel, beautifully built well machined yes is it expensive but it’s worth it.

My god the dumb hype around old technology. Not all their reels are made in the USA and it’s not a small company anymore… the biggest problem is the reel is advertised as a rugged and water proof/water resistant. There is almost a myth around this company with online videos of people finding reels in the ocean many years later and the reel working perfectly fine…. What a bunch of crap. I fished it 155 days last year the gears on the teeth are grinded away and the bail fail. The worst part is they won’t cover it under the warranty and it too much over 3 months for my reel to come back. They can blame covid all they want but my daiwa reel came back in 2 weeks.

Amazing reel

So the description on german amazon is wrong, it says "right handed" even though it's VR150 (right handed would be VR151) either way, proper VR150 arrived, left handed, brand new, sparkling. I was not sure if the offer is real as the price was very very good, but seems like the seller "tackle-deals" stands by its name. I would not normally buy it, but the price was too good to pass up. Looking forward to the new season with this reel and many more seasons after that. Edit: added pictures from fishing trips.

Sehr schwergängig für eine derart hochpreisige Rolle. Die Fräsungen sind teils scharfkantig, da diese anscheinend nicht bearbeitet wurden. Ich habe die Rollo sehr enttäuscht zurückgeschickt.
