Does the job but it gets everywhere. My wood burning stove got out of hand with one of those compressed wooden bricks. The whole thing burned so hot and fast that the flue paint exploded and the metal in the flue and parts of the stove glowed white and went soft. This thing put it out in seconds... but every surface was covered in the dust despite it being aimed into the fire.

I bought one initially for the kitchen and then on delivery realised that it was the ideal size for carrying around in my car, in case of emergency - it is a standard requirement for taxi drivers etc. Just like an Insurance Policy it is something you buy and then hope that you never have to use it. Thankfully, I cannot comment on what it is like in action but it has the correct certification, a pressure gauge, and is very competitively priced.

I have not used this yet but it is nice and compact
