Yes. You can buy the new version separately Makita B-35097 or it comes in set B-3183. I have the older version that came in Makita B-27159 which I like better than the new version. I prefer it over this version because it allows you to use any 1” driver tip regardless of brand and works great. Where this one is proprietary and only works with specific Makita 2” bits

will this fit onto dewalt flextorq bits?

No, it won't. I tried it, it doesn't fit.

Just bought this and it doesn't fit screw drivers. Can someone recommend a magnetic add on (not magnetizer) that I can put on any screw driver?

You have to buy the Makita brand tips for this to work properly... They are better than other screw driver tips...but You get what you pay for.... Good Luck...

Will this work on a no. 2 philips screw driver?

I could not use it because the #2 tip only sticks out in front of the magnet about 3/16 of an inch which is ok if all you do is drywall or other flush drive applications. But you can’t countersink a screw when you want or need to. It did not work for me.
