Not all metal grinder; plastic inside.
Nice unit, bought it as a gift for a friend. However the Mr. Dudley that I’ve owned for over 20 years that came with a lifetime warranty is constructed with all metal hardware inside. This newer version of the same mill has plastic in the grinding mechanism. Disappointed in the change, because it is still a pricey peppermill. Not sure if an all metal one is still available, would be nice if it was clearly stated in the description.

Beware of coating detaching from bottom of grinder ending up in your food.
Two problems. The screw knob is always loosening itself when the grinder is turned. Very annoying. I expect to set it and it should stay set.The second one is more than annoying. The coating is some type of paint that has begun to flake off. I have had this just over a month when I noticed it on the bottom. Not being a chemist I don't have the equipment to analyze but I suspect that any finish that could come off (looking like ground pepper) is undesirable to say the least. I would expect a quality finish on a food device such as this to be and oil or other penetrating stain rather than "paint" that will separate from the surface and flake off.Should be pulled from the market.
