Q: I have a double wooden fence gate. Can this be installed on the 2x4 frame?

The Vinyl Gate Latch (Black) could be installed on the 2X4 frame of a double wooden gate and used with the help of a drop rod.

Q: Difficult to open from outside. Takes 2 hands and latch fingers get banged by door. Is there a latch extension?

Not sure which end you put on the outside. I put simple handles , on both sides to make opening and closing easier.

Q: Does anyone know the minimum gate to post gap?

Latch operates from both sides of gate. This vinyl fence gate latch is powder coated white. Our vinyl gate latches are adjustable from 3/4" - 1-1/2" gap between the gate post and gate frame. Simple gate latch to install with the easy to follow gate latch installation instructions. White powder coating hardware looks good and increases vinyl gate latch life. Self tapping screws included. Fence gate latch measures 9" (W) x 5.5" (H) x 1.5" (D) and is pad-lockable for extra gate security.
