*I got this bowl to help my dog from eating too fast and then throwing up. He doesn't do it often but he doesn't it often enough for me to worry that he could get bloat. He's a 15 lb Maltese terrier mix (bit overweight, he could probably be 13 or 14 lbs). I also got it for my adolescent cat who is about 8-9 lbs (and will probably be about 10-11 fully grown). The cat eats so fast and gets gassy from it. Plus, he bullies the dog to eat his food. Pictures are included to show you the size of my pets and the sizes of their snouts.It came in an easy to recycle box and the sticker at the bottom was easy to remove. That fact that it was on the bottom pleased me since I don't want him eating stickers. Speaking of the bottom, it has nice rubber on it to protect my floors and to keep them from sliding. Plus, it has a nice weight to it. I put it on its side in the washer before use and it looked great coming out. Heavy duty plastic resin seems like quality stuff that will stand the test of time. "White" color is actually a shade of beige. The shape looks like the picture, perhaps the color a shade lighter, like cream or ivory.I feed both my dog and cat 1/4 cup of dry and wet food twice a day (half a cup total), sometimes with a small snack late at night. That 1/4 fills the crevices of the bowl without it being heaping. I thought it was great since it makes my dog work for his food. I also bought the xs for my cat since he has short snout. I thought it made the xs a little too easy looking to eat out of for the dog but perfect for the cat. I wasn't sure which size either would like, which is why I bought both.Turns out both like the extra small one. The small was too much of a challenge for my dog. He's snout is a bit too short to reach, and while he a fast eater he is not tenacious. After making the bowl heaping-ly full to encourage the dog to transition to that bowl he refused to use it but lied down pathetically next to it, waiting for me give him something else to eat. I poured the contents of his small bowl into the extra small and he ate. The bowl worked (yay!) and he definitely slowed down. Finger hole at the size of the bowl make it easy for people to pick it up. I didn't even bother with the small for the cat because my assumptions about his snout were correct - perfect size for him. Even with his tenacious food habits he still has to work to get it.I like this product! I'd definitely recommend it to others. I'm actually thinking of getting the small for mother-in-law's cats. I have two chihuahua puppies from the same litter and we aren't sure if it's because I brought home two of them or not but they are in a race to finish nearly inhaling their food each time, it is UNREAL. We have never ever seen anything like it and I have two other older chi's and they never did this before.I was at my witts end trying to figure out how to slow them down and then a friend of mine (who has a doxie that is the same way, she also brought two home from the same litter but the other doxie acquired tummy issues so he eats slower now) and she recommended a bowl like this.After I researched I saw that most of them are HUGE and meant for normal sized dogs but I needed small yet sturdy bowls fit for my lil cutie patootie chi's and this fit the bill!I love the heft these have to them, they are made extremely well, I am very picky and I am very impressed! I have never seen these in a pet store and if I had I am certain they'd be triple the price I paid (think I paid $5.27 each with free shipping!) They feel nice and not junky or cheap at all. And they are wide at the bottom and have a non stick bottom so that they don't skooch all over if you have a tile, vinyl, or wooden floor.The pups liked them too, I was kind of worried but they are like little piggies :0) I think they like the puzzle aspect of it all with their food pieces moving around. It is cute.I didn't know how I would like the black color but I love it! It was the cheapest one and I am so glad!! They look sharp! And after months of use they still look and feel like brand new..could be that my puppies lick every spot and get them clean each time :0)Even though they still eat super fast, it still slows them down enough to where I am not worried sick. I have time to turn around and get water to put in the bowl at the end so they slurp that up too and then I hold them upright before taking them out so that it all goes down so that they don't acquire "bloat". They kind of "burp" in a doggie way.Also, My female has stopped throwing up (wasn't much just a little tiny bit) so that has helped that too.I HIGHLY recommend these!!

The media could not be loaded.  I got the medium size bowl for my 75 pound dog he doesn’t have a pointed about and still is able to get his food out at a slower pace without frustration or difficulty. It is sturdy, easy to clean and doesn’t slide around the tile much. The best thing about this is what it’s resolved for our dogs eating habits and health. He used to literally inhale his food and swallow without chewing until it was so lodged and bloated in his belled that he’d throw up full kernels of food in a ball of saliva then re eat it again and repeat the above probably twice at each meal. It would leave him bloated, hard to breath and sometimes he’d stiffen and cough to clear his throat of food and try and get air. He never maintained good weight either, I think it fluctuates because he wasn’t chewing food and getting nutrients or digesting well- it was just bloat and look full for a few days then back to a more slender look. NOW since having used this bowl he eats slower and chews his food which I think is helping him process, digest and get nutrients because he’s finally maintaining a more desirable weight without fluctuation and we noticed this within the third week of having owned it. Meal times are happier and healthier for everyone now. I included a video with this review so you can see the proportion of the dogs size and face/mouth size and shape to the medium size bowl and that it doesn’t glide across the floor. Oh, also- we’ve been able to reduce his food serving from four scoops that we were giving to help him be fuller and try and gain weight down to two level scoops of his food serving all while gaining And maintaining healthy weight!
