Be very very careful of you are using this as a cat deterrent. I was sprinkling it outside and a gust of wind came and blew right in my face. I immediately couldn't see. I tried to run in the house while hitting my face into the door and tripped over the coffee table. Nobody told me not to rinse with water. So I was rinsing with water and it was burning worse. Water was spraying everywhere and my foot slipped and banged my head on the sink. A black eye and 2 bruises later, I got it rinsed enough to start seeing again. This stuff works great and apparently has many uses. Well worth the money.

I mix this with my slug bait to keep the critters from eating it, works great for that purpose! It might also work mixed with birdseed to keep the squirrels out but I have squirrel-proof feeders so haven't tried that. I've also sprinkled small piles around the house where I don't want mice to get in to, like around the pantry, and it keeps them away. I haven't tried it for food so I'm not sure on taste, but it smells spicy and works well enough to repel mammals.

I purchased this product to try to get our 3 small dogs to stop digging holes in our back yard. I simply sprinkle a little bit in the spots where they start digging and they return one time to investigate but do not dig any more at that location. It needs to be reapplied after it rains. It does not appear to adversely effect grass growth.

My sweet elderly neighbor has seen a small family of foxes in her back yard, and they apparently have their den in the woodsy part of my yard. They try to dig up mice & chipmunks under her back yard shed, and she is terrified of them. I got this big jug of cayenne pepper to spread along the shed perimeter. She re-sprinkles it after rain, and it seems to work. These are suburban foxes who are not terribly afraid of humans.. the Mama & pup will dash away if you yell, but Daddy Fox will hold his ground and stare at you. No harm to any pets has occurred.

I am using it to deter some naughty wild animals that damage my yard for Grubs. When I opened the bottle seal, my nostril immediately felt Sting. So I strongly suggest: wear Mask, use Gloves and even Goggles. I didn't dilute the powder just used small spoon to sprinkle on the area that Racoon interest in, and they never come back. By the way, I don't have any pets.

This is a real nice spice. Does not take much to make a difference in your dish of wonders. If you like it a bit spicer it’s easy enough with this stuff. One tsp in water and little lemon juice sure warms you up. I like it!!!
